Beyond the tick if the clock
Time is measured in the passing 
of events taking place around you 

Today the clock ticked  another millennium 
Sounding through the happiness 
of this event
The bitter pause that is your absence

Yes-life goes on with prices paid
Yes-we’ve learned how to bring back
the taste of happiness such as today

But the heaviness in the air
Matches the heaviness in our hearts 
For you dear brother and son
are not here
