My stroke has been steady
My kick has been strong
This upstream-battle is tedious and long
The current varies, sometimes fast
sometimes slow
There are many obstacles
either way I go
At times I face a whirlpool it’s furor
Pulls me down
I must use every fiber to swim
so not to drown
Right now the whirlpool’s spinning I’m caught and whirling round
My journey won’t be over till both feet
touch the ground
 This river flows before me
The direction is my choice
I’ll reach that peaceful shoreline
by following his voice
