Sit alone in a room and think,

Of times past.

The pain of being a burden,

Felt by every foster who took you.

The sorrow that builds,

Within the darkness you dwell in.

Regret the actions you make,

To fit in and feel wanted.

Watch as a loved one withers,

And dies even as all you want is to help her.

Walk in a sand box as big as the holler,

To come home broken and shattered.

Listen as a person you love says you are,

Nothing and a monster and leaves with you son.

Live alone and on autopilot,

So long that you forget how to be a man.

Then find that which makes,

You hope and happy.

Discover the man you thought was dead,

Was still inside you and you needed her to save him.

Then rip it apart allow fear to,

Control you and ruin that which gave you hope.

Now rejoice,

For this is not you.

Smile,

Life is good and hopeful for you.

Forget,

That this is me.

And now I have nothing,

I needed to be strong.

And yet I was weak,

And destroyed my dream.

And my reward is to be,

Alone.
