As a person who has had experience working in the classroom, I am disappointed to say schools are going downhill. Parents, children, and teachers, all play a very important role in the youth's of today's lives. But, things are growing worse as I have heard of, and seen more incidents growing over a period of time. The rate of recorded violence has almost trippled despite the efforts of preventing it. The problem, is it there are still people who think violence is the only way to solve problems in classroom. I understand both sides of the coin, if an unruly student acts against you it's only natural you want to act back. It's Human Nature, and animalistic nature which we are born with.

A teacher should never strike back at the student. Regardless of what the student does. Working with young mind's, is among the hardest duties we have. Also one of the worst paying jobs in the United States. However, in spite of all this the teacher should never be willing to strike a student. It's in a kid's nature, especially at the age of a High School student to test Independence. Some people may think of it as a joke, until it erupts into a one-sided brawl. Much like the recently media made public occurrence at a high school in California.

Certainly the student was in the wrong, by making racial slurs and inciting trouble. But, it's a teacher's duty to understand that student was testing him. He failed, and let his anger take control of him period doing severe harm to that student, which may scar them both for the rest of their lives. The boy in question, was a Hispanic student who came in without wearing a uniform. All this violence, over the silly little uniform. What does it take, to make a student hate Authority? At the age of a high school student, it doesn't take very much.

I've seen numerous times and my youth, and as my experience as a teacher's aide. I have never ever seen anything like this erupting in my own career. An adult should know better, than to attack someone that's about a foot smaller than they are. This teachers build was about three times the width and about a head taller than the student. What if that was your son who was injured there? A teacher should ask themselves that question before raising there hand at a student. This is not a political problem, this is a personal problem which spreads all across the United States. And this is not the only problem which affects the educational system in the United States.

Any time I have seen a student act out, I or the teacher was always able to explain the problem in a calm manner. We've dealt with some tough students, but they were willing to cooperate within reason. They were capable of understanding, that they were in the wrong. If we made a mistake in the classroom, we were willing to admit it to the students. As a teacher, you cannot be one-sided. The students in your classroom look to you as their guide. They respect and love you in a special way. You have to earn that respect though and that means you have to prove that your better. It's okay for the kids to know that you're human, but it's important that you also let the kids know how much you care. It's important for kids to know that you care. If they don't think you care, then you've already lost the fight. If you're willing to give that up, then you aren't worth being an educator.

It's not always the Educator's fault, some of those problems stem back from their homes. It is still your duties as an educator though, to do the best you can with the student. You must always be the best with your students as you can. That's the only way they'll respect you, and that's the only way you can make a positive impact on their lives. Not everyone is a Super Genius, but to be a perfect educator you have to love what you do. You have to love it regardless of how your students act towards you. You have to love them as your own, then you will have earned the respect that you can call yourself a true mentor. And that, is when students will remember you for the rest of your lives. I can't believe the problems which are erupting in our systems. We must fight against this way before it spreads.
