I knocked on the door again. No one answered, but I knew the house wasn’t empty. They were expecting me to give up and go away, but I had other plans. I climbed the side of the house and entered the living room through the open window. Jennna was perched there staring wide eyed back at me. You could still hear her father bellowing angrily down the hallway. Jenna terrified quickly gets up and tells me that it isn’t safe and that I should leave. I didn’t care what her father does he can call the cops for all I care.

Jenna shrinks down as her parents enter the living room. I’m standing directly in front of them with my arms crossed and my arguments ready.
Immediately like I had expected Jenna’s father got instantly furious he tried to shove me back out the window. He tried pushing me out the doorway and telling me to get lost. I wouldn’t budge though I’ve had enough of him controlling me.

“You’re gonna be quite and listen to me now. 12 years I’ve been with Jenna and not once have you interfered. You supported us with everything we did. Now that I’ve decided she’s the final girl for me, you disapprove? I know you’re her father and I get that, but to suddenly not support us. It makes no sense you’ve had no problems with me until now.”
I’ve never liked you but I had to for Jenna’s sake.
“You and I both know that I don’t believe that. You know I’m a good guy no this is about something else.”
I don’t know what you’re trying to prove mister psychologist. I just don’t like you it’s the honest truth.
“If it was the truth you would’ve came out with it years ago. Is it possible you just aren’t ready for her to be married?”
What, no that’s ridiculous I’m completely ready for her to be ma...married.
“Mmhh are you sure about that?”

In a defeated tone he responds while sinking into the couch behind him.
Maybe you’re right I’m sorry honey I shouldn’t have reacted the way I did.
Sitting down on the couch beside him Jenna comforts him.
“It’s ok Dad I know it may be hard for you. Just because I’m getting married doesn’t mean I’ll leave you or won’t be your little girl.”
I know I must’ve forgotten that. You’re right Darren I do like you and you’re perfect for my daughter.

Many months later they had a beautiful ceremony. It was full of all of their friends and family. Jenna’s father proudly gave her off to Darren and the two became officially married.

As the day came to and end Jenna’s father couldn’t think of anyone better to be her daughters husband. He’s glad that he came to his senses because his daughters happiness is most important to him.

Tearing them too apart well it would be impossible.
