Somebody should have told me 
That people can be cruel,
Somebody should have told me,
That being smart didn’t mean you followed every rule,
Somebody should have told me,
That left isn’t right ;but right can be wrong
Somebody should have told me,
Sometimes no one wants to hear the sound of the birdies song,
Somebody should have told me ,
And helped me to cause less upsets 
Somebody should have told me ,
Perhaps my life would have led to fewer  regrets ,
Somebody should have told me ,
That life would get me down
Somebody should have told me ,
I would eventually great each day without a smile but instead a frown.
Somebody should have told me ,
But since they didn’t; I must claim
Somebody should have told me ,
But if they had my life would not be quite the same. 
Somebody should have told me 
But , I’m thankful I found out on my own and now am  truly sure  ;
That deceit and hatred are the poison that makes truth and love the cure and the passion and pain that makes us human the only thing that’s truly pure .
