Johnstown’s Promise Read Count : 98

friendly , clean and safe
alone , dirty, and without hope
it is the state of ruins
that used to be a town
that finds me disenchanted
and run down
the markings on.the walls
that we pass each day
the proof of something that once was
now lying in decay
there must be some reason
or purpose for despair
and each day as i wake i realize it's right there
it saddens me to say
that  I remember better days
when the streets ran with promise
and not all our dismays
so many things have happened to this tiny place
and leaves us all wondering why we endure it's sad disgrace
the truth is known
and yet seems untold
this is no longer a land of the young
but of the old
respectfully I say to all those who have entered here
and remained regardless of change or fear
abandon all hope
for all is lost
move on or dwell and endure the cost

Welcome to Johnstown , leave now or forget about peace ...
