Pokemon Inspired Me Without Realizing Read Count : 52

Hello friends, as I have mentioned before I've discussed things that inspired me to write. Looking back, my first real inspiration which led to me writing was Pokemon. When I was a boy, Pokemon had just come out on the market and was a great hit when I was 5 to 6 years old. Some of my friends in school and I, made up stories related to us living in this imaginary world. This is the first time I had realized in my life, we can create our own worlds with our own minds. I know it sounds odd, but the real reason behind this is a hat which looks like Pikachu's head. Something I sought as a child, but was never able to obtain until recently. If you don't know what that is, Pikachu is an electric mouse type, which the main character used primarily in battle. The series has come a long way from the original set, which existed while I was a young boy. I was enthralled by this world. The creativity of this which ended up leading to a multimillion franchise.

The original creator of the original Pokemon, was Satoshi Tajiri, who also founded Game Freak. He was a big fan of arcade games, and set out to create his own. In his youth, it was bug cillecting and drawing which inspired him to create this franchise. To give people the thrill of collecting something like he had. He also took apart his Famicorn, an old Japanese arcade gaming console, and won a gaming contest sponsored by Sega. In 1989, he founded Game Freak and set out to make Pokemon Green and Red which took six years to develop. It was at this time, Game Boy, a carry compatible gaming device had become a huge hit. This leading to the franchise we know today. Most people often wonder why so I'll explain the key points behind it.

The first main point, was the fact that it targeted kids. The thrill of collecting something and picking out your favorites was difficult with the large number of creatures at your disposal to pick from. Most people preferred specific elements over creatures. It made little difference though, because of the variety of Pokemon that were available. A large number of people have that child-like spirit. It was when he formed this the gaming system was already a sensation. It's thanks to him Game Boy evolved like the Pokemon he created.

Variety and Evolution, was actually the next reason for his unimpeded success. The variety originally was over 100 creatures with several elemental types. This made the card game much more of a challenge and led to evolutionary types such as Eevee. A cute dog type able to branch into different elements as it evolved. With every creature, it had a rookie phase, and could have evolved one or two more times depending on the creature. This not only added excitement, but the hope of seeing new forms as they grew more powerful.  This ultimately made the card game a huge success.

At age six, I wrote what was supposed to be a nonfiction book. Of course I didn't know the difference then, so I made something up. "My Dog Nick" was the title and the rest speaks for itself. It was at that time I was commended for writing the cutest story in my class. This time was important though, because my parents had learned the severity of my dystrophy. I won't deny that it is because of recent technology, that I'm much more effective. I was very unhappy at this time, not because of the dystrophy but because my parents were arguing a lot.

Getting back on topic, it was because of Pokemon that I realized that a person was capable of creating an entire world. Often, my friends and I would have competitions of making up stories in this wonderful land given to us. I want  with creativity at your corner, you can make people feel things, see things, even smell things that they may never have known before. It seems all of us have a deep part of us which has been hidden away to inspire us. Something that happened, something that we've seen, something that we've known, it leads us to the pen. And we use that pain to change the world.
