I must have dozed off. As my eyes opened I could still hear the demons voice, smell the stench of his breath and see those blood red eyes. I was not going to be afraid. I was going to be strong. I got dressed and went into the kitchen for breakfast. My aunt looked at me and said you look tired. I didn't sleep well I said. She just placed plate in front of me and told me to eat to get me some energy up. At first glimpse of the plate it looked like a plate of bird seed. I closed my eyes and shook my head and looked again and it was eggs and bacon. Nancy just looked at me, what's wrong honey? I replied nothing it's just where I'm tired. I ate as fast as I could and started out the door. The rest of my family must have been busy elsewhere for I did not see anyone else at all. I rode a bike into the old part of town there was a witch's shop I loved to visit there. It had everything from candles to stones anything you could want. I had become good friends with the lady that owned the shop. As I walked in the smell of incense was all around me. I walked up to the counter where Ilene stood. Before I could say anything she spoke. " I knew you would be here!, come into my backroom where we can talk." She told the young girl straightening books to watch the front and led me to a room in the back. Before we stepped through the door she asked me not to speak until she let's me know it's ok. I nodded in understanding. We walked into a dark room with a soft glow of candles all around. On all the walls was symbols I was assuming was for protection. In the center of the room was a table that had a crystal ball on it. As I walked forward she pointed towards the chair. I had a seat. She told me she was going to do a cleansing. She lit her sage and repeated a spiritual cleansing over and over while making sure the smoke entered every area of the room. Then she took salt and went around the entire area of the room concealing us from any harm. Then she sat in front of me and held my hands in hands from across the table. Ok I am ready. She began to speak. I had a dream about you last night. The demon is tormenting you. Yes I said. She went on. He has been tormenting families in this town for centuries. He is called Craith. He fears you. He has saw your strength. That's why he is coming to you in his horrible form. He can't just possess you, he has to weaken you down because your strength in your heart and mind could destroy him. What do I do I asked? She continued, you showed fear last night. He will try to possess you soon. He feels you are not as strong as he thought you was. I know you are. You said in the dream you was going to fight him from the inside and that's exactly what you need to do. You need to meditate and make sure there is a wall built up hiding any weakness he can use against you. When he possess you he will try to take you over. That's when you can fight him and send him back to where he came from never to hurt anyone else. How do I do that I ask? I will give you a ritual you must also keep that locked behind the wall in your mind because he will know. He knows your thoughts. He feeds off your fears he is pure evil. I'm ready I said. She said close your eyes. We did visualizations and meditations until I could actually see the ritual in my mind. It was locked there for me to use anytime I was ready. Then she looked at me and said now it's up to you to put the wall up in your mind. She walked out to give me time to meditate and I knew what I had to do. I felt stronger than ever. My mind and heart was secure I was ready to fight for my family. I walked out of the room and with a smile Ilene knew I was ready. She had me a bag of thongs ready. She hugged me handed me the bag and wished me luck. I told her thank you and walked out. The bike ride back to my aunt's seemed to take forever. I walked in everyone was watching television. My uncle asked me where have you been all day. I told him I went to town for some shopping. I excused myself to take my bag to my room. Opening the bag there was some candles with symbols carved on them. A necklace with a protection symbol on it and some incense. I could hear Ilene speaking in my mind if he thinks you ate getting items for protection then he thinks you are scared. She is so smart. I would have never thought to outsmart him that way. I put the necklace on and set the candles on my dresser. I walked back into the living room. That's a beautiful necklace said my aunt. Thank you i said. She asked if I would like to go with her to pick some apples. Sure I said I would love too.
