I lie here lifeless
screaming but not being heard
Trying to figure out how to explain
Why the heart takes too long
to figure out what
the mind already understands. 
 
It hurts but I find myself
Pretending to be fine.
“I’m okay” has become my favorite lie
And letting my silence speak
Became my bad habit.
 
And though i’ve been 
An emotional wreck 
I tried for you
Because you were worth it 
But you left
So it’s my turn to stay gone. 
 
You’ll learn why the snow 
makes the cemetery look so alive.  
You’ll find comfort in my absence
the same way everyone else does eventually.
