     It wasn't long! I was so excited. It wasn't very often I get to go spend time with anyone. I was very shy. I always thought of myself as kind of drab. Dull brown hair, medium build, and brown eyes. No, nothing special about me so why go around anyone. Even my name Sylissa was boring, but I am going to actually get out of my slump and go stay with my aunt Nancy. She is a very beautiful woman. She was tall and skinny with short brunette hair. She was a strong and loving mother. She was a stay at home mother but she was constantly doing little things at home to earn extra money. My uncle Kibe was a stern man. He was short with a heavy build. He had grey hair and thinning on the top. You walked a straight line when he was around. When he looked at you over his glasses you knew you was in trouble. He had a lighter side though. He loved to joke and cut up with everyone. He was really just a big teddy bear. He had two sons Jeremiah and Nathan. Jeremiah was the youngest. He was always extremely quiet. Me and him had a lot in common because of that. He had blonde hair and blue eyes. He loved to joke but he was so bashful he rarely would even speak. Nathan was tall with dirty blonde hair. He was the dare devil. There was a not a challenge he would not except. All the girls loved him because of his outgoing personality. He would always keep me laughing constantly.  It had been so long. I couldn't wait. I missed seeing my family. They lived back in the mountains. Back in the middle of nowhere. There cabin was huge. The most beautiful wood a cabin could be made from. Flowers all around it had the most alluring aroma. You could hear rustling all around in the woods from the woodland creatures playing. It was my dream place. I loved it!   
I showed up that morning and was greeted with love as usual from my aunt. She welcomed me in. There was the aroma of a wood stove as I walked in. It was so warm and cozy. I turned looking around. The walls were covered in old family pictures. So many memories I felt like I was walking through the past. As I entered the living room I was met by my cousins. I looked at them and with a huge smile I ran over and wrapped my arms around Jeremiahs neck. I stepped back my hands on his arms "Wow you have grown". Jeremiah just blushed and whispered a thank you. If I wasn't so close I probably would not have even heard him. Then I turned my head and with a mischevious grin I said "and you, still a trouble maker I hear". With a laugh he said "always". He grabbed me by my arm and pulled me towards him. I turned a circle and my back went towards him as his arm came around me. I knew exactly what was coming next. "Noogy", as I felt his fist rubbing the top of my head I thought the skin would come off. The room filled with laughter as Nathan let me go. I turned around only to see a smile of triumph on his face. "I will get you back I yelled at him" trying to look mean but I couldn't keep my laughter in. "I will be waiting " Nathan replied trying to intimidate me. Nancy stepped in and put her arm around me, "I would like you to meet Stacy ". Standing in this doorway was a very beautiful girl. Long brunette hair with curls falling down her back. Big beautiful blue eyes and a natural complexion. She was very petite and seemed bashful. She looked at me with a smile that created little dimples in her rosy red cheeks ,"hi, I am Jeremiahs girlfriend". Her voice was as soft as an angels to match her beauty. "It's very nice to meet you", I said with a sweet smile. Suddenly I heard another female voice in the background, " Nathan, where is my favorite sweater?" Nathan rolled his eyes and sighed, "I don't know!" he yelled back into the darkness. He looked at me and said "and that's my girlfriend". I couldn't tell if he was embarrassed or just aggravated.  Then from the rooms appeared a tall skinnier girl. You could smell her perfume all around the room. Her face looked almost fake from so much makeup. Her blonde teased as high as she could get it on top of her head. She walked up with extreme confidence, shaking my hand, " hi, my name is Jessica. She held a tight grip on my hand as we barely shook hands. I noticed her eyes moving from my head to my toes as if she was sizing me up for the kill. I stepped back saying "nice to meet you". It was a lie though. There was something about her I did not like. Turning to look at Nathan she said "I'm going to finish getting ready". He just shrugged as if he didn't care what she did. A smile came back to my face. It was my Uncle Kibe. He wrapped his arms around me holding me tight. "I missed you girl" he said. "I missed you too" I repeated. "It is so nice to be back here" I said. "Lets all have a seat" I heard Nancy say in the background. We sat and reminised about the good ole days. Telling stories about times way before I was born. I loved hearing those stories. I also loved hearing the funny stories about things Nathan had done. He loved attention and did some pretty wild things for it. Suddenly there was a knock at the door. Nancy looked surprised. "Who could that be now". She got up rubbing her hands down her dress to straighten any wrinkles "would you please excuse me" she said. She opened the door. It was her friend Elizabeth. Elizabeth and Nancy was very close. Elizabeth always dressed in dresses and had her hair up in a bun. Her and Nancy loved to gossip. She was very loud and very forward with everuything she said no matter what people thought. "Welcome Elizabeth" I could hear Nancy say. She walked in and did not speak a word. Nancy knew something was very wrong with Elizabeth. Elizabeth walked past Nancy and straight to the living room. Nancy followed her worried about the way she is acting. "This is my friend Elizabeth" Nancy said. I stood up and reached out my hand "hi I am Sylissa". There was no movement. I just put my hand back down and sat down as if I was a child embarrassed. Her eyes were dark black. You could tell she was looking but was not seeing. It was as if her mind was in a different world. Nancy asked her if she was ok she said yes, speaking as if she was a zombie, just not feeling well. Her stare sent shivers up and down my spine. We all looked around at each other in silence not knowing what to say. It seemed like forever before she even spoke. "I have to leave now" she said and turned and started walking towards the kitchen door. Nancy followed her and asked once again if she is ok. Still no answer as Elizabeth walked out the door and disappeared into the woods.As Nancy closed the door she walked back to the living room. "That was very odd" Nancy said with a shaken up voice.  You could still feel something in the air Elizabeth had left. There was something not right. We all felt very uneasy. Kibe broke the silence "let's all go out for the night. It's not every night my beautiful niece comes to visit us". I looked at him and just grimmed. I know I was blushing because my cheeks wereextremely hot. No-one ever called me beautiful. "Sounds good to me" I said. Jeremiah stood up and took Stacys hand. They are such a sweet couple. Seeing them filled my heart with happiness.  Suddenly my thoughts wereinterrupted with the sound of Nathan hollering at Jessica. "Come on" let's go he screamed. Then you could hear a voice from the darkness "don't rush me".You could see the anger in Nathan's eyes. He looked at us and said "you all go ahead and I will catch up with you later". Nancy looked at him so sad "are you sure honey"? "Yes" Nathan said in a calmer voice. "Go enjoy yourself". I know Nancy's heart was broken seeing her son so miserable but she would never interfere. I got in the car with Nancy and Kibe while Jeremiah and Stacy rode together. Kibe looked at me in the rearview mirror "where would you like to go Sylissa"? I could not think of anything, my mind had went blank. I softly whispered "what would you suggest". "I always love the Country Cuisine"  Nancy said. "They have the best home cooking in the town". "Oh, that sounds wonderful to me. Its been so long since I have had home country cooking". My belly was already growling. "Thats where we will go" said Kibe smiling from ear to ear. I could tell that was one of his favorite places by the expression on his face. Pulling out of the driveway I could see Jeremiahs headlights following close behind us. It wasnt long until we pulled up in a dusty parking lot. There was an old restaurant made to look like a log cabin. Just looking at the outside made you feel warm and cozy like you were at home. We all got out and made our way in. Inside was dim lighting with old tables made from dark wood. The smell of home cooking was all around us. A woman greeted us at the front and led us to a table in the back corner. She said "my name is rose and I will be your waitress. May I get you something to drink". She smiled a bright smile. A simple little dress with an apron on gave her the appearance of a mother cooking in her kitchen. She wore her red hair up in a messy bun. "Sylissa"? My head darted toward my uncle. "What would you like to drink"? "Sweet tea for me please". Rose wrote down our drinks and said "they will be right out". We were looking at the menus when Nathan and Jessica walked up to the table. Nathan apologized for being late as he sat down at the table. Jessica did not make eye contact with anyone. She just sat down and put the menu in front of her face. Nathan continued talking "so what is everyone going to eat tonight"? I looked down at my menu T"he fried chicken with okra and fried squash looks awfully tempting". Nancy agreed. "I will have the same" she said. Soon after the table was covered with delicious food. We were all eating and carrying on light conversation. I looked at Nancy and asked if Elizabeth is ok. Nancy looked at me with a smile. "Im sure she is" Nancy said. "She was probably playing a joke on us wanting to scare us". I could tell by Nancys expression she didnt believe it. Nancy changed the subject. "Jeremiah are you going to tell Sylissa the good news"? Jeremiah smiled and reached for Stacys hand. Pulling her hand in front of me I saw a beautiful silver engagement ring. "We are engaged". With excitement I started to say congratulations when I heard a sigh. I looked over and Jessica was rolling her eyes. Nathan gave her a look of warning and she looked down at her plate and continued eating. I looked at Jeremiah and said "I am so happy for the both of you". In unison they both said thank you softly and went back to eating. The silence seemed to last forever. You could hear soft chatter in the background and workers in back back rattling dishes. Suddenly every sound in the restaurant slowly stopped. There was dead silence. I raised my head and looked around. I could see customers mouths moving and workers bustling all around but there was no sound. I began to think I was going crazy. I looked up at my family. Each person was eating from there plates except Nancy. Her fork was halfway to her mouth but she was frozen in a deep stare. I turned my head to look in the direction she was staring at. There was a huge window leading outside to the darkness of the night. I looked closer and I saw an image. It was Elizabeth. She was extemely pale with black eyes and a very frightening smile on her face. Her body was covered in a long white dress. Her hair layed messy down in her face. She just stared with her black eyes. Suddenly I was startled by a bang in the kitchen. All the sounds surrounding the room suddenly came back. I looked over at Nancy. She was eating just as if nothing had happened. I looked quickly over to the window there was nothing but the darkness of the night. Then I heard Kibe speak "Sylissa are you ok". Turning my head to him I stuttered "yes, just enjoying the scenery and this delicious food". Nancy said "yes it is beautiful in here". Then everyone heard a loud thump. We all looked towards the noise which led to the same window as before. The window was cracked. One of the workers ran outside. Soon he came back in carrying a dead crow in a piece of cloth. "The poor feller must have flew into the window" I heard him say to another worker. Nancy said "aw poor bird, didnt even see the window". I could feel cold chills of fear all over my body. Everone went back to eating except for Jessica. I noticed she was sitting straight up in her seat with her arms by her side. There was no movement at all. Nathan must have noticed me staring at her because he said "are you ok honey"? There was no answer just a blank stare. Everone looked up from there plates. Nancy looked at Nathan with concern. He layed his fork down and politely excused himself. He wrapped his arms around her and asked if she is ok again. She slowly turned her head towards him and stared at him with a blank stare. I looked at kibe and said "im going to get her home. I dont think she is feeling very wel". Kibe nodded at him to let him know he understood. He helped her to her feet and as he walked her out it was if she was gliding wieghtlessly across the floor. As the door closed we sat there in silence a moment. Nancy spoke up "well I am stuffed, its been a long evening. Who is ready to go back home"? We all agreed. We decided to go home. In the car ride home everyone was quiet. I was looking out the window thinking about what I had saw earlier. Was it my imagination or was I going crazy? It couldn't be real or someone else would have noticed also. The ride seemed longer than usual. As we pulled up to the house Nathan's car was parked in the driveway.  We got out and walked into the house. Nathan and Jessica must have been in Nathans room. We sat there and talked about everything that happened when Jeremiah and Sara came in. Jeremiah looked at Nancy and asked "is jessica ok"? Nancy replied "we dont know honey, they have not left there bedroom". I could hear the worry in Nancys voice. Jeremiah and sara sat down by the fire. We all had the same thing on our mind. Why had Jessica acted so odd tonight. Nathan came walking into the living room. He looked at us with sadness and worry on his face. I apologize for what happened this evening. Nancy patted the seat beside her "sit down sweety". He sat down beside her as she wrapped her arms around him. "There is no need for you to be sorry honey". Sara looked up at Nathan "is Jessica ok"? He said in a shaky voice "I dont know. She want speak, she just stares like her mind is somewhere else". Suddenly, we heard a horrible screaching sound followed by a scream and laughter that sounded so evil it sent chills down our spines. We all jumped up running towards Nathans bedroom. When Nathan opened the door it was the most horrible sight we had ever seen. We were all frozen in fear.......
