It’s a truly remarkable sight that lifts your spirits and turns your attitude toward humanity and society’s sad repression around, back into the positive state it had been when you were a child. It instills hope for humanity when a foul ball is hit into a roaring crowd of baseball fanatics and families who have come to enjoy America’s favorite pastime. The fans go absolutely nuts once the ball descends upon them. A mass of arms and hands reach for the heavens until the ball disappears into a blur of the home team’s color. Seconds later, the dust settles and you see it. In the tiny hands of a young fan wearing his favorite player’s oversized jersey, the white, red-laced ball sits. Claps and cheers surround the young boy’s wide-open eyes when he realizes what he is holding in his hand. It’s a sight that could make any fan shed a tear. Until, a thick, hairy arm reaches from behind, and snatches the ball right out of the boy’s hand.
Before the poor child can even realize what has happened, boo’s and curses are already being pitched at the heartless man sitting in the row behind. Staring in disbelief at a now empty hand, the boy begins to cry. His dad picks him up into his arms, shaking his head at the man sitting down, hiding the ball under his crossed arms.
Not only is this true, I see it occur at least once a month on ABC’s News Today. What the fuck is wrong with people? How could someone be so incredibly selfish? To make a little kid cry like that, and for what? A fucking baseball?!!
Usually, if a player sees it, he will give the kid a new ball and the man a dirty look. If I saw that, I’d kick the fucker out of the game and ban him. How could you do that to a child? You are literally taking candy from a baby.
Anybody else seen this? What are your thoughts?
