Hello Writer's Outlet community. I have some important things to cover. I don't want sympathy, feedback, comments, excuses or anything else. Just read and understand please.
As the 3rd quarter ends, this app is continuing to trend in the wrong direction. We have had a loss using every metric quarter over quarter since the start of the year. It just cannot sustain itself if this continues. More importantly to me, it is no longer fun or productive to operate it. At our high point, we had a group of really good writers that were engaged and adding quality content on a daily basis. Most of those writers are gone. I used to be so disappointed about this but now I really don't care. There are a few of you left and I appreciate you but it is just not enough. I have put so much in both time and money into this app and 99 percent of feedback I get is bitching and complaining. I am giving it this last quarter to see if some of the writers return and feedback, clicks and shares improve but if things stay the same or decrease, the app will be dissolved or sold. I doubt anyone would want to buy it so the likely scenario is that the app will be gone in early 2019.
My hope when I created this app was to offer a place to upload and share all forms of media that was focused on creativity and not an app like Facebook. Words can't convey how much I hate Facebook and the best part of dissolving this app will be that I can delete my Facebook account since I only created it and stay on it because of this app.
Did you know that you can upload text, audio, photo and video on this fucking app? This could be something big that really gets new content into the mainstream instead of the same old remade and rebooted bullshit that we get now. I see the talent from you guys but things don't get shared. They aren't promoted except by me. We start and stop. We say we are going to do something and we don't. Most of you won't even see this.
I am committed to doing everything possible to make this app work and making it to 2019 including fixing the current issues. These should be done in the next few weeks.
If this is the end of the line, we had a great run and your content will remain although I would back it up just in case. I really want to keep this going but like everything else in life, you can't always get what you want. This app used to give me so much hope but is ending in disappointment as it slowly dies. I will announce the apps future in December. Have a great last quarter.
