      Love has Consequences
You can only have one
       Sure, a handsome boy like Mikey could have any girl he wanted in the sixth grade. Even some of the seventh grade girls gave him the attention the other boys in their grade were lacking of. 
   When he walked in the halls, a smile would widen on a girl’s face nearby. Even when she tried to hide it with her hand in her sleeve, he could tell.
       Though being a boy with the looks that any other guy under him could dream of having, gave him some troubles along the way. Boys being jealous was enough and perhaps getting into some detentions was the other, but he also was always saying that all the girls in the school were his girlfriends…. THAT WAS TROUBLE.
        Think about it: Imagining all those girls thinking that they could just walk up to him and say “Hi, baby” or “I love you, Mikey” and with others getting jealous, there becomes an issue. A fight could even break out. Well, a fight did occur but in a different situation…
         When Mikey had chosen his girlfriend, (which he was pressured into) there was always a talk about them. The girl’s name was Jessica. Everytime those two would walk away from each other, the girls would either be in awe or grimace at Jessica. Though to her, that's what she wanted. To make others feel jealous of her as she also had the looks of a model who seemed to not belong in school. 
            After a mere two months of dating each other, Mikey had his eyes on another girl. She was in four of his classes: Math, history, science, and art. He loved her drawings and thought that she was really talented. Since Jessica, his girlfriend, did not like art that much or wasn't too interested in it, he thought he could support Riley, the girl he liked, at her art show.
          So when he did, there were certain stirs of trouble the next day. Many rumors were spread about Mikey and Riley and of course his girlfriend, Jessica. Some say they saw Mikey peck Riley on the lips (Which he really did on the cheek) after the art show was over. Others say that Mikey and Riley were dating and that Mikey and Jessica called it caps. 
       It was whispers when Jessica had finally walked passed them. Since she didn’t attend the art show, she was in the dark of the whole situation. But it was not very long until she caught wind of the rumors.
 When she heard of it, she wanted clear answers since everyone kept telling her different things that Mikey did with Riley. She had to deal with girls who glared at her when she was with Mikey, ask if those two had broken up. It was chaos to her, so by the time the class she had with her boyfriend, Mikey was flying close by, she demanded answers from him.
         When Mikey saw Jessica, he approached her like nothing had ever happened, as if they were still normal with each other without the rumors spreading. Jessica had asked him a simple question about the rumors. And in a soft voice she said, “Are they true?” Mikey looked at her baffled. “What do you mean?” He asked as if he didn’t know what she was talking about, but oh he knew. He knew very well what she meant, but he was trying to play it cool. “The rumors! Are they true?” She asked a bit louder. Mikey attempted to give her a peck on the lips, but so he failed when Jessica backed away.
         “What happened at the art show? What did you do with Riley? Did you really kiss her? Are you cheating on me? I thought you liked me!” She yelled. Her eyes were now flooding with tears. Everyone turned their attention towards them as a scene was now in to take action. Mikey’s face red as a tomato and on Jessica’s face slid down black tracks of mascara. 
Before Mikey could respond, their ELAR teacher butt in telling them to take their seats. Jessica usually sat next to Mikey, but now there was absolutely no way she was going to this time. 
       During the first period of reading, Mikey spent most of his time trying to get Jessica's attention by passing notes. After the first two notes he sent her, she had refused to receive any other scraps of apologies. She wanted an explanation and clearly she was not getting it. In her mind, she did want to believe that the rumors were just to tear them apart and that this “Riley chick” was just an excuse to why. But there are so many people talking about it that make it seem like something did happen. There had to be a misunderstanding,...right?
     After two periods of ELAR had passed, Jessica finally went head to head with Mikey. She just wants to hear his words tell her whether the things being said were real or not. 
        “Mikey, please,” She said to him softly as he was putting his journals away. “are the rumors true? Did you really kiss Riley?” Mikey shot a red face at Jessica. “You're my girlfriend, of course I woul-" Mikey trailed off as he saw Riley come in through the door. He had forgotten seventh and eighth period was when she had ELAR. Jessica caught his look and turned around just to see Riley standing there. Riley looked confused and nervous at the same time. But Jessica was seriously infuriating with Riley’s presence and Mikey's silence. So she immediately snapped. 
        And this was definitely the fight that happened in a different situation. Jessica ended up being suspended and Riley in a week's detention. And as for Mikey, things surely didn't go well for him. Almost all the girls in his grade disliked him. It was all because he couldn't choose one girl and thought that he needed two. The boys however called him a saint. Even at that Mikey still felt terrible. So by the next month, he transferred to another school. And from there he was to not make the same mistakes he did last time.
      “Jessica, like she was for me, you know.” He had said to the boys who called him a saint at his now old school. “But Riley was made for me. I was in more in love with her but I still liked Jessica, you know. I thought I could have two girlfriends, you know. That would have been cool, you know.” Almost all the boys agreed with him, but that literally made the girls in his grade fume at him even more. That's the ultimate reason why he moved. 
     He did not talk the way he did back then. It made him a fool. A fool that knew nothing but greed. But he had to know when it comes to certain things, you just can't have more than one. So at his new school he would learn about what he really wants and when he does, he will know that “Love has consequences"
