Today marks the hearing of the woman Christine Blasey Ford's testimony about her allegations of sexual assualt. As her story goes, she and a friend went to a party in the saving when she was fifteen years if age. During that party Kavanaugh and Judge were intoxicated, and a boy nicknamed P.J. was also present. There was also a fourth boy, but Ford was unable to recollect the name. As she continued describing the incident she headed upstairs to use the bathroom. She went up a narrow set of steps and upstairs was shoved into a bedroom across from the bathroom.

Two boys identified as Judge and Kavanaugh went into the room. One boy locked the door while Kavanaugh forced her on the bed. Ford explained he sorted running his hands down her body and proceeded to take off her clothes. She screamed and struggled to escape. The second time she mentioned screaming for help he forced his hands over her mouth.

"I was scared, I was afraid he was going to accidentally kill me. I couldn't breathe."

She continued on by explaining that Judge jumped on the bed a few times. He was egging Kavanaugh on. Judge, jumped on the bed again a few times and toppled them over. There was a bathroom door in the bedroom and she stated she ran inside to hide. She locked the door and waited for them to exit. After waiting to ensure they were gone, she headed down the stairs and left the house. She has also stated that she remembers running down the street terrified for her life. If her allegations are true, then I really couldn't blame her for being terrified. She could remember several specific details, however there were details she was unable to remember. This is not unusual though, considering PTSD and the other possible contributing factors. When phased by such a frightening position, it is not unusual to remember specific details about the attack and then to forget about other details like when and where. Most people wouldn't even remember these details as an adult naturally, because most people don't remember that type of information.

Kavanaugh on several occasions has refuted her claims saying that it was untrue. What concerns me about Kavanaugh  although, is the fact, is he wants to paint himself as a choir boy. To be honest, I've never met anyone that was a perfect choir boy. Now I'm not saying that all males are rapists either, because most people would naturally not take part in that type of action on a natural level. Even some of Kavanaugh's closest friends, have refuted his claims of him being a choir boy. Most of his friends, stating that he drink large amounts of alcohol and did go to parties such as what she described. Whether this had occurred, they could not really say if they believed it or not. We cannot know if the allegations are true or not, because the truth lies under the knowledge of Kavanagh, Judge, and Ford. If Kavanagh was as drunk as what they have stated, it wouldn't be surprising that he may not even remember the incident.

Whether this is true or not true, it makes little difference because he has already lied to the American people. By trying to paint himself as a choir boy, and his friends refuting his claims it means he's lied. I have never heard of anyone that is perfect, though many people try to pretend they are. It's actually been my experience in life, if a person tries extremely hard to paint themselves as something good then usually they're something much worse. It's in our nature as human beings, not to want to accept responsibility for our actions. Even if we don't know we've committed certain actions. Lying to the American people about it though, only tells me that we cannot trust him in the highest positions this country has to offer. How are we to trust someone to protect our rights, if he's willing to lie about atrocities he has committed. I'm not necessarily saying he should be locked up for his actions, but he needs to be willing to admit them if he has committed these crimes.

What bothers me about these allegations, is the fact that opposing side has done everything they can to interfere with the rule of law. They refused to allow the FBI to investigate, and they also refused to allow other possible witnesses to testify before them along with Ford. This kind of stonewalling should be clear to the American people. It has also been made obvious, they do not wish to pursue other allegations made against Kavanagh. This kind of interference, could be considered obstruction of justice. Ford had stated, she believes it was her civic duty to come forward with these allegations.

There are reasons why it is troubling to believe either of them. This is not important though, because the fate of our country rests on finding the truth. If a man has been proven to be an outright liar, he should not be allowed to sit on Judgement for other people. This is why we should not ignore these accusations, and why they may protect the very fabric of our country.

Certainly I know a large number of women have been subjected to this kind of treatment. I'm also where there's a large number of women, who wrongly accused men of sexual assault. We should always be willing to give it a ear to those who have stated they have been attacked, whether they are male or female. This should be used as inspiration to those who have been assaulted. Certainly, there are a large number of people who are still terrified to come forward. When someone believes they have been a victim of a crime, this is what we should not ignore.
