I opened my phone once again to reveal the fact that she had not yet responded. I couldn't bare thinking of showing up to my brother's panatheaera without my date. I could imagine her laying around her house, cigar in hand and wine glass in the other like she always is, purposely ignoring me. I hadn't been keeping track but but I realize this is about the third time I've called her without any response. She promised me she would come. She promised me.

With a hope lost, I sighingly go to call again. I held my phone up to my ear with my shoulder, focusing on the road. I listen to the ringer buzz what felt like a thousand times before I realized I was nearly five minutes from my brother's mansion, where the panatheaera was to be hosted. In disappointment, I hold my phone against the steering wheel to balance while I end the call. My thumb is nearly two inches from the end call button when I notice the word 'calling' transforms into the word 'ongoing call' on my screen.

I hear a familiar, seductive voice on the other line, "hey." I immidiatley recognize the voice. It belonged to minthe.

I let out a sigh of relief just of the fact she answered. "You're late."

Ignoring me completely, she asks "did you get that purse I wanted?"

"Umm yeah.. but-"

"Oh great!" She shreiks.

This time, in different phrasing I ask "you're still coming to the panatheaera with me, right?"

I rest my hand on my forehead against the dashboard as she lets out a long exhale. "Hmm... I don't think so."

I glare in my rearview mirror at the car parallel parking behind me allowing their headlights to beam into my car. "What do you mean?"

In a more nastier, more recognizable tone she explains, "What I mean is I don't particularly want to be seen out in public with you today."

I nervously chuckle and assume she's being sarcastic. "Real classy minthe. Come on, stop messing around. I can't show up at my brother's panatheaera by myself."

"In fact, I don't feel like being seen with you in general. Hades, all the fine suits in the world won't change the fact that you reek of death."

I feel my body fill with heat as I shrivel up into the seat of my car. She makes a kissy noise as she hangs up. Leaving me to the silence of my car.

I calm myself down, dust off anything that couldve been on my suit, and tighten my bow as I open the door of my B&W to be greeted by a bush of blue roses.

I had never seen blue roses before. I decide to pick one and place it into the pocket of my suit. It fit me well, as the rose was seemingly only a few shades darker than the blue tone of my skin.

I look up to see my brother's mansion, filled with colors and lights blaring out the window with popular music blasting to the point in which you could hear it from a mile away.

Before I know it, I'm standing in front of the large corridor. I jumped back into reality as I found myself just standing there, in front of the corridor. I decide to go inside. Besides, I don't have anybody to wait for anymore.

I find everybody's eyes locked on me. Could they tell I just got over a breakup? Was it because Hades, the god of the underworld showed up to the fanciest party of every year without a date? Was my hair a mess? I ignored them and casually approach the stairs to where I knew I would find my brothers. Staring over the crowd of drunk gods and goddesses through the second floor glass wall panels.

I am greeted by the bright smile of Zues's wife, Hera.

"Where's your date blue-boy?" She cheerfully asks. You could tell she had been drinking by the tone of her voice.

"Gone." I snarl. "I need a drink."

She gives me a sympathetic look and looks down at my shoes. "Well I am for one great ful! I don't have to spend the evening with that nymph trash."

We both let out an akward laugh.

I change the subject of minthe, "did Posideon bring his wife?"

She looks up at the ceiling as if she'd rather not answer the question cuz she somehow knew it would bother me. "Umm... yeah..."

"Great! So I'm the only one alone?" I annoyingly ask.

She glares at me and chuckles. "Don't worry, nobody will notice."

I look at the crowd and stuff my hands in the pockets of my pants. I grimly say "You did-" as we are interrupted by the screeching sound of someone yelling "Hera!" We both look up. "Hera I've been looking for you everywhere.." he picks her up and hugs her by her waist as her legs swing into the air. "You look so beautiful tonight!" He explains.

"Oh stop you're embarrassing me!" Hera says in a cheerful voice.

"How about we get outta here?" Zues smirks. "You big silly, you can't leave your own party!" While she giggles, feet continuously swinging into the air.

I find myself in an akward situation. "Ahem.."

"Oh! Hades! I didn't see you there! Hey, Where's your date?" look down at his feet and I hear Hera deeply groan. "Zues, do you know when to shut up?!" While she grimly stares at him. ---

I look up to see Artemis facing my curtains, twirling her fingers in a string that came out of her dress. I catch her attention with a simple "Hey Artemis!"

She tosses the string watching it float away while she turns around. She has a disgusted look on her face.

"What... What do you think..? I ask uncomfortably.

"Persephone, you can't wear that to a pantheaera, you look like a relic."

I look down at the dress I was wearing. It was a soft, flowing white dress that dragged behind me. I shuffled against the pink silky cape that hung by my elbows while my gold jewelery clashes around on my wrists. I practically wore the cape with every outfit since it fit perfectly with my pink skintone.

"This is the only dress I own at the moment.." I nervously say. She looks me up and down as if she couldn't believe the words that had just came out of my mouth. I don't really go shopping.

I sigh. Artemis giggles.

"I've got something that would fit you perfectly." She studies me.

"You're a real lifesaver.." I laugh.
