We do it every day of our lives. We walk from point A to point B in a mere one tenth of Nano-second. The amount of time it takes for the human eye to blink. So, we know now that its possible. We’ve bent space, as to make a door. We’ve stepped through that door, walking through the infinite expanse of time. The first experiment was a small success compared to what we hope to achieve now.
The blinding colors swirled around me as before. My feet are flat on the surface of the platform but I feel as though I’m falling as the vertigo overtakes me before the swirl of color stops abruptly, sending me to my knees. I grab the sides of my head, shutting my eyes tightly. The pain is excruciating but calms after a moment. I open my eyes. The blur slowly dissipates, my surroundings come into view. I stand to my feet, taking a look around. I’m no longer in my lab. The smell of sulfur and smoke invade my nostrils. In the distance I see blackened smoke rising from several craters in the surface. A large thud practically next to me, I literally missed being hit by a pterodactyl falling out of the the sky. I examine the creature, finding that it had died. Off in the distance, I hear groaning, and I look to see a T-Rex falling over. All around me, these creatures are collapsing. Dying. Had the time travel experiment failed and I am dreaming all of this? No. It’s real. Too real. I have indeed traveled through time and have witnessed the fall of the dinosaurs. I need to leave here. reach for the flux reactor fastened to my belt. Blue lightning and colors swirl around me once again. My head is pounding and I’m nauseous. I’m holding onto my stomach, trying not to heave. Instantly, and thankfully, I’m sent back home to 2018.
