It’s still experimental. We aren’t sure what would happen. I am about
to take the journey of all journeys, and if successful, I will be the first time
traveler in the history of science.
I’m standing on the platform. The time is now 9:00AM. As it begins, I can feel the vibration under my feet. Sweat dampens my forehead as I watch the countdown display. In just a few minutes, I’ll either be 30 minutes intothe future.
Or dead.
The end of the count down. 3…2…1.
Everything around me is a blur just before some brilliant white light envelopes me. I’m feeling light headed and nauseous as the light turns from pure white to a swirl of almost blinding pastel colors furiously spinning around me. Vertigo then overtakes me, and have to regain my balance before I fall over backward off of the platform. The swirling light abruptly stops, and my surroundings come back into view. I’m looking around Everything and everyone looks same. For about a half a minute, everyone seems as still as statues, like time is stopped. The computers appear to be frozen and even the clock on the wall is stopped. The clock on the display panel, the only thing that doesn’t appear frozen in time is reading 9:30AM About a half a minute went by and everything and everyone around me was once again moving, no longer frozen in time. Excitement exploded
through the lab.
The experiment which took place at precisely 9am on March 26th, 2018 was a success. I have indeed traveled 1 half an hour into the future.
