After many years 
Without you in my life 
The countless memories 
That were etched in my brain 
Have long been forgotten 
But whenever I look at those pictures tucked away
Hidden as though they shouldn’t be looked at
I can still smell the aroma that was in the room
While I look at the pictures of Christmas morning 
I can still sense the joy displayed in the pictures of my little sister sound asleep
Eve without you presently in my life 
Even without the memories in my own mind 
I have the 10 year photos 
That show me those memories 
Those times where you were there 
And that makes those pictures worth gold and diamonds to me
Because they give me something which I can not get


You 
They let me see you
Even if it’s not in person 
I’m able to see that you 
Did exist at one time 
It just so happened to be a time 
I don’t remember
