This story was written to help broaden my writing skills, especially when it comes to the romance genre.

It's cold, the sky is grey, the air is bitter. A blond emerges from her dorm, a large coat wrapped around her. It's definitely too big to be her's.

She tucks a strand of blond hair behind her ear as she crosses the campus. Her pace quickens as she passes a group of boys.

However, despite the chilly Vermont air, the girl is smiling. It's not a wide toothy smile, but a small shy one. Her cheeks are pink, and it's not because of the cold.

"Gracie!" A girl calls, waving her over. The girl has pretty dark skin and curly hair. She was standing next to a lanky brunet. Both of them were shivering, their hands wrapped tightly around their cups of coffee.

"Where have you been?" The curly haired girl asked, adjusting her glasses. "Sorry, you know Jessica, she wouldn't wake me up if the world was ending." Gracie said. The brunet laughed. "That's true."

"Wanna grab some coffee and join Alexis and I?" The first girl asked. "No, sorry Kendra. I have somewhere I need to be." Kendra and Alexis watched Gracie  drift across campus. "She's fallen for him." Kendra sighed, Alexis nodding.

Gracie made her way over to the library, where she found a tall boy with chestnut hair. "Gracie." He smiled. "Hi Erin." She blushed.

Erin stepped forwards and lightly pressed his lips to her forehead. "Lets get to class." He said, taking her hand. Together, they made their way across campus.
