“It was you, who was reckless to think I would come without protection.” I growl, slip my hand into my coat and pulled out old hand engraved Christian cross. “You thought I haven’t learn anything about people? I’ve learned they are venal bastards who would not think twice to betray you!”
I rip off the chain of the cross and raised it against her. Her magic immediately shrink back.
“Redi viventem in tenebris nigrum est. Аccipere virtutem in nomine ejus lucem.”
Marissa retreat, her eyes were wide open from fright.
“Stay back!” she screamed at me, start shooting spells against me.
For a moment I felt an attack over my mind, but I put even the smallest part of me to push her back.
Reditu in lucem tenebras abit!”
There was a crash and she flied backward from her place and fell on the floor.
I didn’t lost anymore time. Reached her and started ripping her neck and chest with my nails. I’ve done worse than that, I would imagine forgiving myself somehow.
Digging deeper through breaking ribs, I reached the heart and tore the aorta. I gripped her heart and removed it from her chest; the blood came out all around. And then I cut her head and threw it away from the body.
Finished with that I took a step back. The stink of her magic was still around. My sight fell on the jar with the yellow liquid, where was soaking a heart of a human. Its size was like child’s fist.
“I’ve made a mistake “I told the head, lying at the corner. “I should kill you back then.”
I flood everything with gasoline and left the house before the fire spreads. She and all her damn magic would turn to dust once and for all. All but one.

When I went back to the airport I left the car, I influenced on the man who loan it to me, he never met me before, never knew who was driving the limo and never saw my face.
Taking the flight back to New Jersey I was keep telling myself I’ve done the right thing, but something inside me shivers from disgust. Not for the witch I killed, for me that I’ve done that.”
