It hurts to move
It hurts to even think it
I'm just tired of hitting the ground.
I should be accustomed to it,
But it's hard.
I don't want anymore pep talks.
I'm tired of hearing
"It'll get better."
How do they know?
I hate myself more than anyone.
I'll get up,
Just to piss them all off
I'll stand again
Stand while I can
While I still have choices
Stand just so I'm closer to the sky.
I'll stand and reach for it.
Reach for the blue overhead,
Work hard again,
And try to fly.
When I touch the sky,
I'll be glad I stood again.
