I’m a wilting flower
Looking for my extra sunlight
Searching for my chance at water
I’m a wilting flower
Ducking behind every corner
Looking for the reasons why I should hang on
When my scars run so deep
When the criticism I received from me alone
When the harsh words of others
Have caused me to doubt myself
Caused me to cry
And made me question
Whether I deserve the love I have
Whether I deserve the praise people do give me
Whether I deserve the respect I’m given
Whether I deserve anything I have
When I seem to make a mistake everywhere I go
That’s pointed out
Whenever I can get so mad at myself
Just for making a simple mistake
I’m a wilting flower
When I wish I had the confidence
To be the bright and perky flower
That stands straight and tall
