Blowing 53 candles 🍰

Marked 53 years of Independence

53 years of freedom don't come easily

Through blood, sweat, tears we gained today

But we should not let it slide passed

Once sweep, it won't float back

Fishing 🎣 port to trading port to being under a white flag with a red circle inside then we got ruled under a blue flag with red and white lines

But our firmness runs us out of being ruled

Looking around, others could get Independence so can we

But things don't turn out well

A country with Malaysia but due to different beliefs we got kicked out like a football player kicking the ball far away

Left alone, we had no choice to feed ourselves

The more the people laughed at us, the stronger we got

If other countries could do it so can we

Neighbors throw bomb, bullets to our country

When power went back home, we were left like a helpless cat 🐈 not able to help ourselves

No jobs to give the beggars

No money 💰 to give the beggars

No roads to transport stuff across the island

Marked my words, I will change this place to a better country

Short houses 🏠 to tall blocks

Smelly rivers that blow the people away, now attract tourists to pay money 💰 to see the blue-greenish water

Red dot we got looked down at, now being respected and now people pay money 💰 to come enjoy the heat 🔥 and the green land  🌲
