She was a peculiar child, she kept to herself mostly. Her imagination, advanced  beyond her years, made her different. 
Being different was something she was proud of and it didn't really bother her that she spent her days in solitude. 
The little girl with the long dark hair and blue eyes that seemed disproportioned to her face, she loved being alone. It was only then her mind would set sail on an ocean of dreams, taking her to places she had never been. 
She grew up in this world created for herself, making room for school, then work. Life slowly chipped away at her, new responsibilities filling the chambers in her mind once reserved for imagination, a place she could travel to without physically going anywhere. 
Then, she met him. In the beginning she was inspired. She was dreaming again, life felt more magical and free. She would lay next to him in the cold evening's and let her mind go to work. 
All in her mind she created their future together and it was magical. It was a world she never wanted to leave, filled with love and laughter. 
Suddenly jolted from her thoughts, the sting of his hand still burned across her tear stained cheek. Reality was never as good as her imagination. 
The magic faded, with that she walked into the rain and didn't look back, that was the last time anyone saw her.
