Where Is Everybody? Read Count : 238

Where is everybody? We are down in daily users, page views, impressions, clicks, content and reads over the past 2 months or so. This app needs more content, more readers and more interaction to survive.

In late 2016/ early 2017 I started with a minimal approach and have added new features and UI/UX and new categories. I have sunk more time and money into this app than I can even believe. I am burnt out and after the upcoming update, will not be doing anything else with it. If it is going to work, it will have to do so as is. Without any real marketing or advertising or a big tech firm or private equity firm behind it, we have almost 30,000 users which sounds great but on a daily basis, we are seeing just a few hundred active users which is sad.

I had a vision for this app to be a place to store and share your creative works whether it be writing, art, photography, audio, video or just to store and share notes or ideas. Even though I despise social media (I wasn't even on it until I launched this app and only am because of it) I made it so that with the click of a button, you can share anything you create or anything someone else has created to any of your social media or your email or text. The thinking was that you could be a part of a community of creative people but still use apps like Facebook and Instagram to redirect back to the app increasing your read counts and interactions and bringing more traffic to the app. I have added a profile share to make it easy to share your entire profile to any individual, group or platform. This app could be your main file storage and sharing app. I wanted to create a place for independent and unknown writers to have a voice. A way to get discovered because it is impossible using the existing avenues unless you get really really lucky. If everyone used this app the way it was intended, it may very well introduce some new talent and new music and books and entertainment into a world that desperately needs it. We have had a few success stories of our writers getting published but we need more and I know we can get more.

Sound off in the comments. Be as honest as you want. I need answers as to why most of our top and previously most frequent writers don't write on here anymore, don't share and are writing on other apps including apps that aren't meant for writing. Writing on multiple apps is fine and makes sense especially if it is an app meant for writing but why ignore this one? If you like this app, please use it and use it often.

Thank you to those that support the app and have supported the app. I hope we can rebound and get back to where we were about 6 months ago. If not, Writer's Outlet will be soon be history.

  • I'm just working on ideas for my books and writings. As soon as I get a good idea, I'll probably write something.

  • Ah, I have seen this app going a bit slow which is abnormal, but I'm pretty sure soon it will be back to the way it was. I've been revising some of my writings in my trusty notebook and creating new ones over this past summer. At this point, my new stories are almost finished I just have this one I'm getting back to. And there is one reason I don't really respond much to this app because of the notifications. I've been late on some requests and messages and I've haven't been able to see who else posts on here. I keep thinking no one's doing anything, but when I check to see there are many writings though with less ratings. It's only that one problem that needs to be fixed. I'm pretty sure if that's fixed everybody will be more active again. And welcome back, Jared!

All social media is taking a hit in the user and activity area right now for what ever reason. Facebook's stock dropped for the first time since it went public and Twitter followed with an even bigger drop. They arent even sure why. My pinterest has even dropped about 9000 views for the month. I dont post here everyday, but I do try to read and rate at least once a day. Ill try to share more via the app, it takes less time that way anyway. The font and layout is easier to read than other places. I use other apps with less users, but always give this profile and app as an option. I like this app. I think its pretty simple to use and feels a lot like using microsoft word. I do wish it gave us the option to check for plagerism, but even then, google is only able to check so many words at a time, so no complaints here. I appriciate all the sharing you do for us!

I don't want to see this app go under. I met a lot of good people and inspiring writers on here. That would make me sad.

Very sad in the decline, I have shared the app already but I'll try to get more people. ★Long live Writers Outlet★

  • Hi, Jared. I'm new here. It would be a shame if this would go down. I'm really enjoying this community of writers and readers, all here for the thing they love; we love rather. Haven't gotten around to reading anything large though. Cannot scroll further down a write-up even though I can clearly see there's more to read.

so what IS wrong with reviews. lots of great app have bad reviews, why does everyone have to change in your opinion. no app has a perfect rating, why is it so important that EVERY WRITER IS PERFECT?
