The sun stopped shining as it did before
When the Heavens opened up for you.
With each day our time shared play more
Than they ever did when it was just us two.
I took those days for granted, oh yes I did,
And I can only apologize for my indifference.
I hope you knew the rebellious nature of a kid-
It was nothing personal, just hormones in the moment.
I can go on and on about how you absence makes me blue
But, what I care most for you know:
If I never said it before, I love you.
