See What I See Read Count : 92

Like flashes from a movie screen,

Nightmares, these horrendous things.

When shattered broken heart that bleeds.

A withering soul, on begging knee, pleads.

Through tears, for relief.

A simple reprieve.

From these horrible memories,

Fraught with fear, terror only she sees.

Cursed, jaded, that’s what they say,

Their way to explain,

These tears they refuse to see.

A past, haunting, powerful far from free.

A nightmare long past, they say,

They see no other way.

Haunting when it had been her he beat.

Lies, threats, became a prison, she lived.

Flashes from a scene long played.

When her heart and soul were betrayed.

Words I love you, empty in their stead.

Haunting these scars that bled.

For once I wish you could see,

These overplayed scenes.

These open wounds, that bleed.

Just once see what I see….
