Mysterious Quote Read Count : 101

While going through a few old notebooks I came across a mysterious quote left by a friend of mine who passed away in a car accident in high school. Matthew and I were really what you would call as a confidential friend. This is a person  you are able to confide in without eachother from time to time without sharing a high school click. He was seen by most as a bit odd, but had a wonderful sense of humor

He was a creative and kind person who rarely wronged anyone, but I knew more about him than most. One thing we shared was the love of writing, and another was we were looked upon as outcasts. We did things our own way, but the difference between us was he joined a click, and I followed my own path wherever it led me.

"Alone is an empty shell for us to hide, when we have difficulty saying what we really mean."

The real story of the accident was that his brake got stuck and the car skidded off the road. The media claimed after a cop searched the accident he had been texting, but that was disproven when the coroner released the time of death. He had died ten minutes before receiving the message. The local news never came out with what really happened. A mask which tarnished his lack of character for being "an ignorant teenager."

On the date of our graduation I learned two things about myself. The first thing was when they were flipping through the pictures, they didn't consider me to be an outcast. I appeared in ery single picture with every group. I was a bigger part of their lives than I realized. The second thing I realized was the last picture was Matthew writing that quote in my notebook. I never had the strength to read Matt's quote he left, because, the accident happened two days later. I guess if you reach out the right way, you will never truly be lost or alone.
