The smell of burning brick

I can still smell it

The harsh cold wet thickens in the air

I find myself laying down on my bed

A witness

The all of alls

I can't Express how I am feeling

That could have been me

That could have been us

What am I

How does one go about

Moving through fire

The smoke rises and ashes scatter

I just want to know

Why is my city

My home

Engulfed by the inferno

Brooklyn is burning

The steel is melting the power is gone

They sky filled with darkness

Cold, wet, humid, and ablaze

Finally the water comes back on

And I can bathe in it's cool liquid

And farewell to this burning Brooklyn
