The Stone Necklace. Part 1 Read Count : 105

A rope tightly bound my hands behind my back. The room was dark, and my gag tasted sour. The last thing I remember was getting hit on the back of the head. Whoever it took my swords and almost every sense except smell. And that didn't help much. It smelled like an old building. Someone removed a blindfold I didn't know I had on. I sneezed at the sudden light.

A Knight walked up and pressed his sword into my cheek, letting my gag fall off. I felt the blood run down my cheek. In front of me, with two guards flanking him, an Officer, probably a general. I narrowed my eyes. He laughed at me.

But once a guard to his right saw I was awake, he elbowed the Officer, knocked out the other two guards in the room, and undid my ropes.

I smiled as he tossed me my swords. Then I noticed that one of the guards was about my size, and a girl. Perfect. I quickly got dressed. The man blushed a turned away. I laughed to myself.

"You good?" I nodded, looking as if I was just another guard. We walked out of there like nothing. As we got out the man nodded to another person and he joined us.

Night fell, and most were asleep, we snuck out. Once we're a few miles off and out of that ugly armor, I turned to them.

"1st things 1st. Who are you?" I placed my hands on my hips.

"I'm Derick, and this is Jay." the second man said. He was the older one who joined us after we killed the guards.

"Who sent you?" I raised an eyebrow.

"The king. He heard of your skill and then of your kidnapping. He would like to recruit you." Jay answered this time, Derick pulled out a dress and tossed it to me. I rolled my eyes and reluctantly put it on. I slung my swords over my back and braided my hair.

"Last but probably most important, do you have any food. Or hard liquor? I could really use some whiskey right now. I'd even settle for rum." Jay gave me an apple, and Derick handed me my favorite brand of whiskey.

"We heard of your preferences." I smiled and took a big swig. We walked another mike and I spotted 3 horses. They must have planned.

I hoped on one and sat sideways. I tossed my apple core behind me and as we approached the nearest town, I gave my bottle to Jay. I sat straight-backed and looked as much as a lady as possible. The town was on the edge of the castle gates. The king had requested to see us immediately, but I wouldn't go unless I was in armor. I got dressed, and we walked into the great hall.

I grew up in this castle. I sighed at memories of my family. We stopped before the throne. We dropped to one knee and put our forearm on our knees. A worrier bow.

"Good. Now, I assume they filled you in?" The king said in an almost bored tone.

"If you assume you make an ass out of you and me. But you are correct." I smiled to myself.

"Good," he took no notice of my comment. "Will you join us?"

"Well, my services don't come cheap."

"How much." He sounded slightly angry.

"Just 50 pieces of gold, and a bottle of hard whiskey." I smiled again.

"Fine." He huffed. "Now, go. You are needed at the west side."

"Well, with all due respects, the west side is holding well. From what I've observed is the north being weak. You have a few soldiers up there, I believe I'd do better there." He yawned and waved us bye. Nodding at what I said.

Good, I was getting paid. That was all that mattered to me since I left the castle. The king was the same, lazy.  But I heard he had two sons that fought. One sided with the Gilds kingdom though. The other I heard was a general on our side in the East. This was going to be fun. But we needed another, 3's an unlucky number.

To be continued...
