My shadow walks behind me,
In a slow grim pace.
But it won't leave,
Event through the raging sea.
It holds me up right,
Keeping me steady.
Without it,
Reality would drift out of sight.
I always want my Shadow.
It's part of my soul.
It's the entrance to a surreal world,
It's the crack in the window.
I love my Shadow a lot,
It reminds me of the life I have.
I had a break in my heart,
And it filled the slot.
I fell in love with my Shadow.
But seeing it is hard,
Because the light fades quickly.
When it's gone I feel like a widow.
I cannot live without it.
And I will always long for it.
Because I fell in love with my Shadow.
And its the only thing that can't break my heart.
