What if I wasn't me
And you weren't you
What if we could be
Whatever we wanted to
What if we could be glad
Instead of being sad
And what if we weren't mad
Because the world wasn't bad
What if we didn't get raped and used
What if people didn't know how to abuse
What if we woke up one day to good news
What if God was proved
And nobody was rude
And while we're sitting in the smoke pit
And the people cough and spit
We smile up and thank God for what we do have
Each other, coffee, cigarettes, and a laugh
