Now Beth worked everyday
And she made a good pay
But the army was her dream
She wanted to join a team
Make her father proud
because Beth was to loud
And her daddy wouldn't hold her
So she became a soldier
The day that girl signed up
Her father had enough
She went to kiss him goodbye
And all he did was sigh
Beth couldn't see him cry
See he was always telling her she wasn't enough
So she grew up and decided to be tough
Now she's on the front yard with a machine gun
And she's wearing gear that ways a ton
And she looks to her comrades and knows she's one of them
And she feels like she's one of the men
Till a bullet in a war zone hits her leg
Don't send me home she begs
Back at home her father won't talk to her
And the timing between each day differs
She wants to heal and get back out there
But she knows they wouldn't dare
And she blames it on being a woman
But then she sees him come home a broken man
One of her comrades is paralyzed
And another one dies
And that's Beth's life
