Coffee Read Count : 125

I tipped the freshly poured coffee into my soft blue mug. Steam lifted peacefully into the air, dispersing as I breathed heavily out, gazing out my back window. Dew still stuck to the grass and windows, the sun still pushing itself over the horizon. A wave of serenity washed over me. Ever since I moved away from the city, I always woke earlier, happier. With another sip of my decaf, I lifted myself up from my perch on the counter. Outside, a rabbit sniffed around, searching for food. In turn, I glanced around, remembering how silent the house was, without any pets. I always grew up with animals, yet years passed without me realizing how different it was without. Setting the drink down, I pulled on my jacket, heading to the car excitedly. I imagined my soon-to-be companion, leaving the steam of hot coffee lift and swirl, evaporating to join the morning dew.
