She looked up suddeny, as a golden blur rushed past and dissapeared into the thicket.

Her curosity piqued, she sprung from the hotspring pool and gave chase.

Water droplets fell from her smooth, tanned skin, A trail of steam emanating from her lithe body in the cool evening air.

She caught a glimpse of the animal as it leaped gracefully to the top of a large boulder.

It was a rare expieriance for her to be so thuroughly outrun by a beast, a fact that increased her appreciation even moreso as she effortlessly scaled the large stone, standing next to the object of her interest.

Large round yellow eyes locked with piercing green. As she reached a hand toward the animal, it lunged toward her, pressing its spotted body against hers, the creature purred loudly as she gently stroked its golden fur.

This creature, the woman had never before encountered,  she loved the feelings that were stirred inside her by the discovery of somthing new!

He called out to her, no response, passing through the thicket, he caled her by name.

Aproaching the clearing, he stopped, his gaze focusing imediately on the scene before him.

with the fiery orange globe setting behind, her gorgeous body seemed to glow, as she crouched playfully scratching the belly of her newfound friend.

"Anai" she shouted in greeting, as her husband approached, a large smile appearing on her face.

"Anai-denali" came his loving reply. "Ertu aden?" He asked,"what are you about?" He questioned.

"Elim" she answered coyly, nodding to the large feline that batted playfully at a few glowbugs that appeared normally at dusktime.

"Ertu Ali?" She patted the cat's spoted side,"What is this now?"

"Mel-tak" the man stated emphatically, making a quick gesture with his well muscled arm.

The puzzeled look, that came next confirmed what he expected, she did not agree!

Her gaze shifted then, toward the setting sun, its beauty never ceased to amaze her, she ran her fingers along the side of animal, who now lay sprawled at her feet.

"Che-ta" she murmured, glancing back at the man.

"Mel-tak" he spoke adamantly,"A beast of speed!"

She gazed deeply into his clear blue eyes,"Che-ta!" Her hand passed over the now slumbering animal, "Of many spots!"

His head drooped down momentarily, when he raised it again, a look of defeat covered his face, and he knew, the look he could never seem to resist, this gorgeous woman,of indescribable beauty, her head tilted slightly to one side, and biting her bottom lip.

"Aya?" She nodded "What say you?"

The man glanced upward momentarily, and then met her gaze, a deep sigh emanating from him..."Che-ta"

The woman sprang from her perched position, landing deftly, a few feet from her husband, she flung her well toned arms around him, as he swirled her around several times.

Hand in hand, they walked off into the darkness....

She sat quietly, motionless, on the edge of the cliff. The morning sun rising in the distance.

She loved the feeling of the gradual warmth, the heat of the sun against her bare skin.

she gazed intently at the river far below, watching as the Eg,le dropped from its Cliffside perch, spread is huge wings and gently spiraled downward into the valley, like a wilted leaf caught up in the breeze, knowing no boundaries, so able... so free.

How she desired to fly free like the Eg,le, she imagined the feeling, but knew ever so well the limits of her human form, having been instructed by her husband in all the ways of this Earth.

While she fully understood and respected the law of gravity, it was by far her least favorite.

Walking casually back thru the thicket, she gently tugged at a ripe fruit, plucking it, along with several more that she would share with her husband when they met up at there home.

as she crossed a beautiful meadow, her thoughts turned once again to the Eg,le, she marveled at its design, its simplistic beauty shrouding the complex mechanics that enabled it to soar through the air so effortlessly.

Her mind raced with visions of flight, from birds to  butterflies to gliding mammals, conceptualizing designs, figuring mathematical probabilities.

How she desired to imitate what she saw, then and there she made an oath to herself, someday, with the help of Adam, she would Fly!

As a light morning mist began to envelope the meadow, she quickly wrapped up the fruits and some berries she had gathered, slinging them across her shoulder she began to run toward home, her long athletic legs carrying her through the waist high brush, leaping deftly over any obstacles in her path.

That evening, reclining together after a meal, the man could sense something was weighing on his wifes mind."Ertu Min?" What thoughts have you?

"speak" he said "speak your thoughts freely"

after a momentary hesitation her words poured out like rushing waters of the Great river Hiddekel!

The man remained silent, leaning back, gazing into the swirling colors of the night sky.

"Min Oru", "you know" he began, "it is not our place to question our design, nor any perceived limits.

We know all that we have here, everything we enjoy, is a great gift from the Father!"

Eve listened thoughtfully, she respected his wisdom, he had taught her so well, yet he remained patient with her, her whimsical thoughts, and fanciful ideas.

"arua velenna qu?"..."What of this?" she asked quizzically, as she began to relate her many and varied ideas of flying techniques, apparatus, designs.

Patiently he listened, often intrigued, even sharing with her his own thoughts on each idea.

"ena eterna" ... "in time" he said, smiling at her, shaking his head, the way a father might look upon a child, destined to get into trouble someday.

"Arua Vellenna Qu!" he stated playfully, jumping to his feet, motioning her to follow.

Running to the north, at a fast pace, winding through the familiar forest, she caught him up,

he turned suddenly eastward sprinting up the hillside, she not far behind, laughing now, as she discerned his destination.

"Espre,Espre!"....."Faster,Faster!" she called out to him, his pace quickened, she strained to keep up, adrenaline flooding her mind and body in anticipation....

She watched as the man crested the hill leaping as high as his strong legs would possibly allow, then disappearing.

only moments later, her turn was at hand, one last burst of speed, one foot planted firmly on the stone outcropping, she launched herself skyward! flying through the air, spinning and twisting her agile form, she cried out with sheer glee as she plummeted downward....

With only a slight splash she entered the deep pool head first.

After several hours of playful splashing, deep diving, and enjoying every bit of the beautiful moonlit evening, The two walked hand in hand toward home.

"Ertu Fod?" She asked suddenly.... He repied quickly "Fod Aya Qu!", "Yes im starving!"

"ellenda Fod Anai Edena", Let me gather food, meet you at home" she said, smiling and sprinting off.

She had in mind some berries that grew in a clearing near the edge of the garden, they appeared so ripe and perfect, they would make a great meal for tonight, she thought to herself.

As she stooped low to gather the ripest of the ruby colored berries, there came a sound that sent chills through her body.....

"Enai" "Greetings" The voice was deep, a strange tone, it was not the voice of her loving husband.

She glanced around frantically, but saw nothing but darkness.

"Ertu Aden?" Came the voice, "what are you about?"

"I come to gather berries for a meal"... "Ertu Uya?" "Who are You?" she asked

"Fod Ina Deliq, Uya Inten", These berries are great for food, You know well!"

"Demi Ertu Uya?"..." Pardon, but Who are you?"

She jumped back as she felt something, move quickly past her, rubbing against her leg.

"I am a friend, I mean you no harm!"

"please friend, Show yourself" she demanded, her curiosity running wild!

"You have a good eye, for selecting fruit, But this fruit is not the best!"

"I cannot see you, Please, Who are you, Did The creator send you to us?"

"Yes!, I know the creator quite well, and I know this garden better than most...

Meet me tomorrow, I will show you the best fruit, Come alone, you can surprise your husband, he will be so very pleased with you!"

She turned slightly at a rustling sound in the brush nearby...

"Meet you" she questioned. "Meet Where?" her eyes searched her surrounding,  her frustration building... "I keep nothing from my husband!"

"That is your choice... But know this, If I cannot trust you.... we cannot be friends"

the voice diminished as it trailed off..

"Will you reveal yourself" she called out in a demanding voice!

"She could barely here the response .. "Yes.... Tomorrow.... Center of the garden" it was like a whisper, almost like it was in her own head.

The Woman walked back slowly toward home, her mind racing like never before, her curiosity piqued like never before, she felt strange, excited yes, she knew that feeling well, but something new, something so very different, she searched in vain for the word.... it never came to her, it did not exist.    The word is Fear!

by the time she reached the glade that was there home for now, she found her husband fast asleep, it had been a long day, he had turned a frustrating day into an amazing one, she thought it best to let him rest.

She placed the berries she had gathered carefully into a woven straw pouch, and then she lie down close to her husband, wrapping her arms tightly around him.

The sun shone bright the next morning, The Woman had been up far before its warm rays reached there home. she had in fact not slept much at all.

she left behind a well arranged breakfast of ripe berries and juice for her husband, along with a note written on a slate stone.....

"ani tu verda kor, ani fasi" ...."going to explore a bit, back with you soon"

The Center of the garden was elevated, requiring a fairly long run to access from the north, or a steep climb to get to from the west, closest to home.

Eve could barely contain her anticipation, she chose the shortest route, the perilous climb did not deter her.

She had only been to this spot a few times, always with Adam, she recalls perfectly the first time....

it was just a week after her creation....He had taken her along the western and northern borders, explaining to her all of the creation, and the thoughts of the creator.

it was such an exciting time, she remembers feeling so exhilarated, she loved to learn, she marveled at everything her husband introduced her to!

Her thoughts raced now, as did her hands, reaching from hand hold to the next, her firm  athletic thighs keeping pace, pushing her upwards toward her destination.

as her head peeked over the crest she was overwhelmed with beauty....the sun shone brightly threw the leaves of the lone tree that grew on the plateau.

She knew this tree, she knew its fruitage was off limits, it belonged to the creator.

She stood looking back toward home, how amazingly beautiful was the view from this height, she thought momentarily of how amazing it would be to leap from the edge of this precipice and soar high up into the clouds and down through the air over the trees, and back home.

her vision was interrupted suddenly by a familiar voice...

"Anai Denali"......"greetings Friend"

She turned quickly, taking in all the nearby surroundings, it was bright, no hiding place this time.

her mind searched frantically for a human form, but no such form was to be found.

A lion lay nearby, resting in the shade of a large boulder, not far off was a group of gazelles, jumping gracefully through the rocky terrain, and in the distance a family of large wooly mammoths bathing in the great pools filled by underground geysers.

She also noticed a large python coiled up at the base of the tree, and several birds flitting about, nothing extraordinary to be found.

'Anai, aya seya"...."greetings, please, Show yourself" she petitioned, again scrupulously surveying her surroundings.

"Ena em Avas"...."Here I am now"....came a voice from just in front of her.

"I have no reason to hide myself".... The large brown and grey python, rose up in front of her, uncoiling its massive body until it was eye level with her.

Gleaming gold reptilian eyes, staring directly into her glistening hazel eyes, "Ena em Avas"...

"Here I am now"

Her mind prompted her to step back, but she did not.

Her momentary fear overcome by unbridled curiosity, caused her to step forward, returning the stoic stare of this very unusual reptile.

"Em Ardu, Eya akin ella venya" ...."I know your kind, You do not speak words!" her gaze fixed on the creature, intent on knowing how it was able to speak intelligible words.

"What you say is true, My kind do not speak, yet...." The large serpent moved swiftly, coiling its body around the trunk of the nearby tree. "Here I am now, speaking with you....Eve"

To hear the creature call her by name, sent an unfamiliar shudder up her spine.

"Aki?, Infa Em!" ....."How, Tell Me!" her words were confident...urgent!...she had to know how this was possible.

The large snake recoiled into the great tree, twisting and turning, wrapping itself tightly to the branches.....

"Em Ardu denali"...."I know your kind" came the response....

"You speak words yes, but far more than this, you think for yourself, you do as you please, is this not true?" The serpents head dropped down from the tree, just inches from the woman's face!

"I Desired to be.... as you are, to think intelligently as do you, I no longer desired to be a mere serpent, subject to your kind, I desired to be like you!"

A thousand questions flooded the woman's mind all at once, but all she could force out was..

"Aki?"... "how?"

Again the serpent, recoiled back into the large tree.....

"It is simple"...A ruby colored fruit fell from the boughs of the tree, Instinctively the woman reached out, catching it in her hand.

She began to turn it over, examining it carefully, it was gorgeous, unlike any fruit she had held before.

"Ertu Ali?"...."what of this?"  she demanded.

The serpents head dropped down from the tree, again only inches from her face!

"Eve".......Its eyes again stared intently into hers.

"what do you desire, do you enjoy having limits?"....

The question caught her off guard, her mind raced, searching for the correct response, but to no avail ...

"I Chose to Think, as your kind does, Tomorrow I may choose to fly, as the birds of heaven are able!"

"Aki?" Eve asked again,as thoughts and desires stirred within her, how she yearned to fly far across the garden, across the borders, to find and explore new things.

"The Power is in the fruitage of this great tree" The serpents body slowly uncoiled from the branches, dropping close to the ground.

The large snake again starred into the eyes of the woman "Do you not wish to have your desires fulfilled?"

Eve gazed at the tree, It was one the most beautiful trees of the garden,

"This tree belongs to the creator", She said emphatically " Of its fruit we are never to eat...nor even touch!" She looked again at the serpent "To do so would mean death!"

The snake thrust its head against the womans hand, pushing the fruit that she gripped up to eye level, "And yet....you hold it in your own hand...How is it that you are still standing?"

"Why would your father, forbid you to eat of something so good?" The serpent rose higher, now looking down upon the woman.

"We may eat the produce of all the garden, with only this exeption" She refused to look up at the snake, her head remained low.

"Your father knows that the fruit of this tree is special, and only those worthy may eat of it!" The snakes voice seemed to deepen as it spoke, again it raised itself higher.

"You, like I, had been created with limits, Your father knows that when you finally eat of this tree those limits will be removed, you will decide for yourself what you shall do, you will have no need for the creator"

The womans mind raced now, she felt strangely, her thoughts conflicting with her desires.

Suddenly The snake began to change in color, from a greyish brown to a very dark charcoal!

"EVE!" The voice was booming and deep.

The woman was forced to look up at the serpent... It returned her gaze with now bright red eyes!

"Look, in your hesitation, you would even allow a lowly serpent, to become greater than you!"

"Eat of this gift, and take your place once again as the Master of this Garden!"

The woman turned, and walked away, toward the edge of the precipice, she looked out longingly over the garden and into the distance....

suddenly, almost without thought or intent she thrust the fruit to her mouth, her teeth sinking deep into its flesh, its sweet clear juice ran down her lower lip, dripping from her chin.

It was the sweetest she had ever tasted, Her body tingled all over now,

in a frenzied like state she ran toward the tree, leaping deftly onto its strong lower boughs, she began frantically clutching at its fruit, taking as much as she could carry.

She dropped down to her feet...glanced around, the serpent was nowhere to be found, and yet she felt as though she was being watched.

Unable to climb, her arms filled with the fruitage of the forbidden tree, she began the long trek to the north and back toward home.

"Ertu aden?" Called out the man, As his wife approached "What are you about?"

Eve Walked right up to her husband, Staring into his eyes, biting her lower lip, she raised her hand to reveal the most beautiful ruby colored fruit he had seen, he immediately knew its origin along with the consequences involved, his thoughts and even his innate power of reason, seemed to fade away as she placed the fruit into his hand....................

Every day of the rest her life, eve would close her eyes in the evening, and dream dreams of a magnificently beautiful Garden, of the carefree life of ease and fun that she enjoyed, how she longed for all the amazing gifts provided so generously by the Creator...

But every morning she opens her eyes to the harsh reality of her existence, sweating amongst the thorns and thistles that cover the ground, the centuries of aches and pains that plague her once perfect body, the feelings... fear, frustration, sorrow!

But no longer!

There will be no dreaming this night, this night the Woman Eve has closed her eyes, and they will not be opened again.... forever!

                                                                                                    THE END!
