My breath made puffs of smoke in the air. A light snow began to steadily blanket the park as we walked. Usually, there would be more cars on the roads that surrounded the small island of green. I hated living in the city, but this is where my college is. Well, actually it was the Medical School in Rochester, but I always wanted to go walk in Central Park in the early hours of the morning and watch the birds wake.

I looked at my companion. He had his hands in his jacket pockets. I pulled off my mitten and wrapped my chilling fingers around his thick leather glove. I placed my head on his shoulder as the sun just started to peak through. Now, little boys and girls would be rushing to see what Santa had gotten them. Or some would be bouncing on their parent's beds and turning on all the light they could.

I kissed Blakes cheek, whispering as softly as I could, "I love you."

He kissed my forehead and whispered back, "Love you more."

The sun tickled my nose as we walked, street lights slow turning off. We got into his car and drove to a road in Rochester. You turned just before you entered Chili. There was a small house near the end of the road. The new salted driveway leads to a small red door. The wind chimes on the rails jingled at the slighted wind.

An old couple came to greet us. "Hey, mom." I hugged him tightly. Then I gave my dad a hug. Inside I smelled fresh cookies. Rumi wagged her old tail as she saw me. Blake talked to my dad, and my younger sister Amelia drove up.

We talked until my older brother, Eric, pulled up with his wife, Elesia, and 2 kids. It was a small family Christmas.

We sat down and I got everyone's attention. "Merry Christmas everybody!"

I slowly woke from my dream. The hot humid Texas air made my legs slick with sweat. If only my life was that perfect.
