Senator Merkley's experience yesterday at the "detention center" holding immigrant children IN CAGES has affected me deeply.  Ripping them from their mothers' arms is horrible enough but CAGING them like animals is inhumane.  WHO ARE WE?  I DON'T RECOGNIZE AMERICA ANYMORE.  I have called both my Senators to ask them to do something.  I don't care what party you are, we should all be the party of compassion and decency.  CALL YOUR SENATORS AND REPS!!!  This policy is cruel and disgusting and needs to be stopped.  It has been reported that this has been going on for months and thousands of children are being detained this way.
