Chapter 1: The War of Music
In the year 21XX, a famous scientist made a world-changing discovery. He discovered how to convert arranged sounds and music into physical shockwaves and a new form energy.

Excited by his new discovery, the scientist promptly published it worldwide, and received huge acclaim and fame. Many people praised him for his work, and named him, the ‘Great Genius of the 21st century’.

That was until a sinister group seized this new technology to create powerful weapons to terrorize the world, claiming that they were working with the scientist to dominate over the world.

Over the city’s darkening skyline, this sight was all too common, buildings exploding into flames, roadside vehicles busted and wrecked, people screaming and scurrying like ants in panic and despair, and suspicious people wearing dark hoods while carrying these weapons- shaped like musical instruments which play music, but also sends families, cars, trees shaking or flying from just a single music note.

Meanwhile, a bunch of policemen busted into a normal looking house, smashing down the wooden door. A woman ran forward to beg for mercy, tears streaming down from her eyes.

“It’s not my husband’s fault! Please believe in him! He didn’t expect that this would happen!” She wailed, with her hands together and kneeled in front of the policemen. The policeman in front tilted his head as a gesture for the other policeman to search for the previously acclaimed scientist, now a wanted man. Several policemen began to stream into the room and the woman wailed harder, grabbing hold of the ankle of one of the men in an attempt to prevent them from entering.

“My daughter is just too young to lose her father! Have mercy on our family!” The woman begged again, as the policeman in front of her shook his head.

“Your husband is a killer, he caused that genocide to happen, we HAVE to catch that bastard,” the policeman trembled in fury, before shaking off the woman’s grip on his ankle in pure disgust, leaving the helpless woman weeping on her knees in pain.

Up in the attic, the wanted scientist peered in from a hole in ceiling, and heard the exchange between his wife and the policeman. He knew, with dread, that it was not long until he would be arrested. With great sorrow, he gazed down fondly at his 5 year old daughter, who looked back up innocently with her bright purple eyes.

“Melody? I’m sorry but I’ll be leaving you for a while,” he paused, as waves of sadness began to take over him, “you stay with momma and be her strong, sweet girl, would you?”

“Huh? I do stay with her. Why can’t you stay, too, papa?” Melody seemed unconvinced, and hugged him by the leg.

“It’s hard to explain, but they thought papa did something horrible, and they’ll need me to be there for a little while to check if I actually did it,” he explained in hushed words as the policemen drew closer. He could hear their footsteps, leather shoes pounding against the carpet. His heartbeat sped up.

“You’re a good person, I’m coming with you. There must be a mistake,” His little girl whispered back, but her eyes flashed with anger. The scientist looked down at his girl and smiled sadly. She’s always thinking for me, and my caring wife as well, all the more reason that I should be protecting them instead of running away like a coward, he thought. The scientist stood up, startling the small girl.

Protect the two women dearest to my heart. The scientist unlocked the latch and the blinding light from the living room flashed across his eyes.
The policemen formed a circle around the hatch above, and pointed their rifles upward as their target descended from the darkness of the attic. The pale face of a young girl could be seen peering fearfully as the her father’s feet landed on the floor, and raised his arms tiredly in surrender.

A few tears rolled down his cheek as he was escorted by the policemen out of his house. From a distance, he could hear the shrill cry of his daughter, sobs of his wife and the whirring of sirens. He remembered the bittersweet memories, marrying his wife, cuddling on the couch, the tender arms and kisses, sending his daughter to kindergarten in school, seeing her gorge herself on vanilla ice cream, drawing an endearingly stupid crayon doodle of his bearded face for Father’s Day, singing for him to sleep every night. All that would now be a distant dream.

The once-famous scientist, now a suspected ringleader of a group of genociders, slipped into the darkness of the police patrol car. Instantly, the car doors swung shut, reflected in the teary eyes of his wife and daughter. This moment would separate the closely-knit family for many years to come.

Author’s note: Chapter 1 is like a prologue, the story is about the scientist’s daughter, Melody, who uses his father’s technology through a special microphone and sings to fight against the hooded bad guys, and wants to break her father out of prison.
