I lay beside this wonderful, colorful field of flowers. I was so little, so little that my body wasn't even a row of flowers long. I smell the mixture of a sweet lilies and fresh dew of the rain, I closed my eyes and opened them to see a horror I never thought existed. These pretty flowers I knew so well for so long were withering. Thornes choked the bright flowers desperately pulling life from their fragile stems. I screamed clawing at the thrones and weeds, uprooting them watching as the ocean of flowers begin to fade into a dark lake. Tears rolled down my face, tears that knew I wouldn't be able to save them. I ignore this painful acknowledgement, fighting them like a snake at my heel and continued to tear through the ground. More and more flowers die, the patches growing by seconds. How could I let this happen?? No one told me these magnificent plants could die, no--no one told me this. I drop to my knees and pull the last thriving flower from the ground as the dying sea reaches my toes. I held it to my cheek pressing it close, laying in the bleak black weeds. I'm silent in a small tranquility, but in the back of this not so young mind, I know this flower will inevitably die as well.
