It could have been one of the greatest love stories ever told...
two people drawn to one another, without logical explanation.
Familiar eyes, knowing smiles, the promise of home.
Others stepped in.... vying for attention, messing up their dreams. 
So they took turns retreating to the shadows...
silent watchers, hopeful observers, wanting only the attention of each other. 
Too afraid to speak up, mouths open as if to say, "I'm here"...
but no words came out, only silent pleas.
Now they're somewhere else... apart from each other, left only with the idea. 
The sad story.... the almost story, the greatest love story never told.
