I had nodded out. The heroin was still kicking my ass, but I could tell it was starting to fade. I’d need a new shot, quick.

The sky was almost pitch black as huge drops of water poured from its evil clouds. I didn’t know what to do. I should have been looking for a reliable place to stay, instead of waiting here for some stranger I didn’t even know was coming or not. But no, I’d rather be an idiot dreamer and take my chances and wake up in the pouring rain.

       So stupid!

I jumped up and nearly fell back down thanks to my legs still being asleep. I had to shake them a few times to get the jello feeling out of them before I could get out of there.

       But where?

       What direction?

I’m pretty sure my squat was flooded or about to be. I don’t know where Vince or his girl are. I’m not welcome at my mom’s place, but I wouldn’t go there even if I was.

Confused, agitated, and a little nervous, I sat back down on the church steps. The tree branches kept most of the rain off of me. I was okay for now, but the thought of sleeping out here tonight gave me chills. It was terrifying. So, I started to think of something else. Like why I was sitting here in the first place.

It was because of that chick. That stupid, college chick. She  would be the reason why I wouldn’t have a place to stay tonight.

      Alexis, that was her name.

And I can’t believe I gave her my real name, either. The one nobody else knew.

      “Jack!”

Yeah, that was it, I thought. But then I heard it again—

“Jack!” The voice had drawn it out while shouting it.

I looked around, but saw nobody. Great, now I’m hearing shit. What else was going to happen?

But then I heard my name shouted, even louder than before. It was from a chick’s voice. A voice I somehow recognized.

      It was her. Alexis.

“Jack, what are you doing out here? You crazy!”

“Waiting for you,” I smiled, with rain dripping down my face.

She laughed. “You’re insane. Come to my place. Follow me.”

I felt skeptical going to her place. But then, that was the whole reason as to why I had been sitting there, so off I followed.

We jogged about a mile up the drag, heading towards campus. Why didn’t I stay on campus? Idiot.

The entire time, behind her, I watched her tight ass sway quickly back and forth. I could feel a certain part of my body start to harden the more I watched. But it quickly went back to its normal state when we arrived at her place. Good thing, I couldn’t see her letting me in with a raging heart-on poking up towards her.
