(I decided to do something happy.)
Ever since I was young, I wanted to have kids. Well, I could wait till I was old enough, but then I couldn't wait. Now, I had the chance. It was a few weeks after David and I had been married. David loved me, and we'd known each other for awhile, plus, he would make a great dad.
A few weeks later:
So, turns out, I can't have kids. But, adoption is the next best thing! Yes, I'm optimistic, but I love kids.
A month later:
The adoption papers came in! We're getting a little girl. Oh, I wonder if she has a name or not! I'm just so excited. David has been so helpful through this. Our family is growing.
Adoption day:
I'm so antsy. Little Anea is on her way. She 2 years old. The social worker walked in holding her hand. She stumbled over her own feet. My heart melted. She was chewing on her forefinger. Her brown hair was in pigtails. She had the most beautiful eye. The social worker said she's from the middle east. And knew her parents.
"Aba, Ema." She looked around.
She was so adorable!
A few years later:
She's so annoying, I love her but she's in this phase, where everything is hers. She'll grow out of it soon.
The teen years:
What more is there to say.
All the other years:
They grow up too fast. She got married, now I'm a grandma! This was a very good life. She became a doctor. I'm so proud of my little girl.
Anea picked up the letter in the safety deposit box in her mothers will. As she read not a tear fell down her face.
"Oh, mom, I love you. I was proud of you too."
