Lucas collapsed into his assigned seat in Homeroom.
"Hey, Lucas, I heard that you tried to set a rag on fire yesterday after school. Is it true?" Chris asked, leaning across Diana's desk.
The red head scowled at the blond.
"Leave Lucas alone," Zoey said, sitting down infront of Lucas. "You know his mom died on Monday."
Sudden tears pricked his eyes, and Lucas bit his lip and looked down, not really sure if she was defending him or making the fact worse.
Joel ruffled Lucas' dark hair as he walked by.
Then Mr. Crane walked in.
