The world that we live in seems to be getting worse & worse every year. How is it possible to live in a world full of people who wouldn't hesitate to hurt you & not live in constant fear? With everything that's happened in my life, my families lives & all around the world, there seems to be a great absence of peace. What's happening to this world? Was it ever safe? And who or what is responsible for all this chaos & hatred being released? I wish Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa & so many more wise individuals were still here to this day. They all wanted to challenge & better the views of their fellow people to help make this world a better place. It's rather depressing to hear about all the lives that have been lost due to others choosing their emotions over logic. Our emotions can take over us, causing us to go into a blind rage, forgetting to be empathetic, thus doing things that will inevitably spread hatred. Because of this & many other things, I truly believe that we should focus more on spreading awareness of mental illness. I believe this is a factor of why there is so much violence, abuse & school shootings. More should be done to ensure the safety of kids when they are in school. More security is a must-have, new laws & better gun control laws need to be passed too. I didn't know what else to do with the way I was feeling at the moment, so I decided to write about it. It's more than just a passion nowadays; it's an outlet. I just hope that we can all make life more enjoyable & safe by bettering ourselves for the world's sake. And I hope that more can be done about gun violence. Now as somewhat of a tribute to all those who were affected & lost their lives yesterday (and beyond), I'd like to end this poem in a moment of silence. ''Unnerving,'' by Natasha (ReneeRose🌹)
