Grace Trey sat on the roof. Her husband Johnny Trey came up and pulled himself out. Grace turned around. Johnny said:" How you manage to do that every time, I'll never know. By the way, how do you do it ? I'm curious." Grace said:" I used to do rock climbing when I couldn't think of something to write for a song. The exercise helped me to think. Exactly what are you doing up here ?" Johnny said:" Hey, I just came to check on  
you. You've been kind of distant lately. I wanted to see if you were okay. I love you, Grace. I don't want you to feel upset. You and I are all we have left of the family. We can't be divided. Hey, a little help here would be great." Grace chuckled and said:" hang on there big guy. I'm coming. How do you get yourself into these kinds of scrapes ?" Johnny said:" I have no idea. Just help me out." Grace crawled over to the hole and pulled Johnny out. Johnny said:" man, you are strong. Let me guess, you used to rock climb." Grace said:" yep. Rock climbing builds up strength. It also helps to think. But, I don't do that now. Not with my condition."  
Johnny was confused. He said:" what do you mean ?" Grace said:" Come, sit. I'll explain." And so Johnny came over and sat down beside her. He said:" so, exactly what did you mean by " not in my condition" what does that mean exactly ?" Grace said slowly:" Johnny, I'm pregnant." Johnny said:" you're sure ? How far along are you ?" Grace said:" I'm in my third trimester. I'm actually pretty close to my due date. The baby should be coming any day now. I know that because of the contractions." Just then Grace felt a contraction. She said:" ah! Ow! Johnny get me inside, Now!" Johnny nodded and picked her up and slid down a slide that he had made. Then he ran into the house. He ran into the room that they shared. He laid her on the bed. Then he slid under her to where she was supported. He held her close. He said gently:" I'm here. I've got you. You are going to be okay. " Just then another contraction seized Grace and she cried out. Johnny knew he had to do something. Then he thought back to when Grace was born. But, there had been a midwife there. He hadn't had to do it that time. Now he had to be the midwife. Well, He'd just step up to the plate and do what he had to  
do. He now knew what he had to do. And so he said:" that's it. You're doing good.  Just relax. Breathe in and out. That's it. Just squeeze my hand. You can do it. I'm right here. You are strong. You will be fine." Grace cried  
out and squeezed his hands. Johnny spied a telephone on the dresser. He picked up the phone and dialed the number of the midwife that they had used before. The midwife knew that one of the women must be in labor. So she ran to the house and ran in. Just then Grace cried out again and the midwife ran up the stairs and got down to business. Grace cried out in pain as a contraction seized her. Johnny held her around the waist and he let Grace lean up on his shoulder. Soon Grace gave birth to a baby girl. The midwife cleaned the baby up and wrapped it up in a baby blanket. Then she handed the baby back to Grace. Grace took the baby back with shaking hands. Johnny said softly:" we never did get around to naming her. Got any ideas ?" Grace said:" I was thinking Michelle Rose Trey. Michelle after her grandmother and Rose after my middle name." Johnny said:" I think that is the perfect name for her. Your mother would have been proud that you chose to name your child after her. By doing that you're keeping your mother's memory alive.
 (Pause) She'd be proud that you chose to use her name  for the baby." Grace smiled faintly and then she fell asleep against Johnny's shoulder.
