I would like to also add that Violet is sixteen and a half, and is the girl on the cover so that's what she looks like. In this chapter she's wearing jeans and a black and white Jersey jacket. (Jersey is a type of brand for those of you who don't know)

THE CHAMPIONS
CHAPTER ONE

Violet looked up at the darkening clouds and felt a gust of wind hit her from the right.

"It's going to rain", Violet said to herself.

Violet looked down at her dog, Lulu a white Maltese, as  she walks around looking for a good spot to use the restroom.  

"Hurry up Lulu! It's going to start raining any minute!"

As Lulu finishes up, Violet tugged on the leash and starts to walk toward the sidewalk that leads to her house. She's at the at the Brackenridge Park in San Antonio.

Violet's phone ringed, signaling her that she got a text. As Violet scrolls down her texts to see who texted her, she felt Lulu's leash go slack. She whips her head around to see Lulu chasing after a solid black cat.

"Lulu! Come back!" Violet yelled, as she chased after her. When Lulu was a puppy, her previous owners abused her and caused for her to be unable to bark. Violet had seen them abusing Lulu while she was playing in her back yard and ran to her parents and cried until they went to the neighbors house to investigate while Violet stayed back and waited in the living room. When her parents came back they were holding Lulu. She was seven at that time, and since then she has cared for Lulu.

Now as Violet chased after her she wished Lulu could bark so she would have known she was interested in chasing a cat. "Lulu!" Violet called after her.

Then up ahead Violet saw that the cat had jumped on top of a bench and laid it's head on the lap of a boy who looked your age, has brown hair, and blue eyes.

Lulu then jumps on top of his lap and starts to try to play with the cat. The boy, who was listening to music, is startled and stands up quickly. Nocking off both the cat and Lulu. 

"I'm so sorry about that!" Violet says as she runs up. Violet then picked up Lulu and put her collor back on. 

"It's alright", he replies. "What's her name?" 

"Lulu, and I'm Violet."

"Nice to meat you both, I'm Chris, and that's Jasmine" Chris says as he smiles widely and points toward the cat. Violet smiles back and for a minute they both just stand there, in awkward silence, until Chris looks at his phone. 

"I'm sorry, but I gotta go, I'll see you around!" Chris says as he walks off picking up Jasmine as he passes her. 

Violet watches him walk off and then realized that it was starting to rain. "Come on Lulu" Violet says as she picks her up and walks briskly toward her house. As she passes one of the shops Violet stops. 

 "I feel like someone's watching me," Violet thinks. She starts to turn around when someone hits her in the back off the head.

As Violet hit the  ground she could faintly hear a man's voice.

"Looks like we caught a powerful one!" 

"Hurry up Jeff and grab her before the Champions show up! With her type of magic, we could become rich!"

Then Violet blacked out.
