CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRY Read Count : 172

  Makes 1 lb. - total time  40 minutes 
          
INGREDIENTS 

    🍓   1 Pound  (16 oz) Fresh
          strawberries - washed and
          dried thoroughly.

    🍓  6 Ounces of semisweet 
              chocolate -  chopped 

    🍓  1 Teaspoon of coconut oil. 
          OR  vegetable shortening -
          ( Divided )

    🍓  3 Ounces milk chocolate and
           OR white chocolate - chopped 

    🍓  Chocolate chips, nuts, or 
           Sprinkles - Optional 


DIRECTIONS 

Place the semisweet chocolate and 3/4 teaspoons of coconut oil in a microwave safe bowl. 

Microwave in 30 second bursts - stirring between each burst. Do this right to melting. Be careful to not overheat.

Lined a rimmed sheet pan with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat

Insert a toothpick into the strawberries stems,  pushing the leaves upward,  and dip into the semisweet chocolate coating completely.

Tapping the toothpick - let excess chocolate fall back into the bowl.                

IF DESIRED - dip into a shallow bowl of chocolate chips, nuts and sprinkles. 

Set the strawberry on the parchment,  sliding forward slightly and continue with the remaining strawberries and if the chocolate becomes too cool and firm at any point, reheat in the microwave.

PLACE THE WHITE CHOCOLATE and 1/4 teaspoons of coconut oil in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for 30 second bursts (Like earlier with milk chocolate).  Stir between each burst. - right to melting point. Do NOT overheat. 

Remove the white chocolate to a  ziptop bag and snip a very small hole in some corner - then drizzle white chocolate all over the dried milk chocolate covered strawberries. 
 Let the strawberries set before serving - 30 minutes at/in room temperature - Then 15 to 20 min in
refrigeration.
