Today's song of the day is Unchained Melody. Written in 1954 by Alex North (music) and Zy Haret (lyrics) it was first recorded by Todd Duncan in 1955 but was most famously recorded in 1965 by Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley, the Righteous Brothers. It is one of if not the greatest love song ever written and recorded. Many artists have covered it from Elvis Presley to U2 but none in my opinion come close to the Righteous Brothers version. Let me know what you think.
Unchained Melody
Oh, my love My darling I've hungered for your touch A long, lonely time And time goes by so slowly And time can do so much Are you still mine? I need your love I need your love God speed your love to me Lonely rivers flow to the sea, to the sea To the open arms of the sea Yes, lonely rivers sigh, "Wait for me, wait for me I'll be coming home, wait for me" Oh, my love My darling I've hungered, hungered for your touch A long, lonely time And time goes by so slowly And time can do so much Are you still mine? I need your love I need your love God speed your love to me..

This is one of those good old love songs that doesn't grow old. One guy sang it to me one time, many, many years ago at a party. His way of telling me how he felt without really saying the words out loud. It was totally unexpected and I was touched. We dated for a few months then I broke it off.
