Saya was... lost. Didn't know where or what or... anything. Just a young, blind, helpless werewolf kid.

The odds of her surviving the night were... well, she was a goner.

But, her instincts wouldn't let her give up. They wouldn't even let her rest or sit still.

Apparently she had ADHD which basically made her bounce off the walls.

So she stood, bouncing around. She hated it, hated being different, hated her diagnostic. Hated it until she inexplicably bounced to the side just as something tried to hit her.

Instinct made her whirl to face her enemy, not that it helped. Some animal predator, most likely a cat. Wolves don't attack one of their own. And she was on her terretory. How she knew that was the question.

She might have been helpless if the c animal hadn't given itself away with its own hostile growl, bouncing off the trees for Saya's sensitive ears to pick up and form a mental picture with.

A cougar. Known Wolf-killer. The younger you were, the more vulnerable. And Saya was a young wolf pup by most standards. And wolf pups know what the best thing to do is.

Saya ran.

The cougar snarled, giving chase. It's roars gave Saya enough info, at least to avoid most tripping hazards. The cougar stumbled a lot, like it also lacked sight.

Well, it was an even fight.

But this cougar had something that Saya lacked, experience, and as they got into the cougars terretory, the big cat knew it's way more, and stopped making noise. Which was bad for Saya.

The cat was catching up, Saya knew, and shifted her focus on running Faster. As soon as she did, she realized her mistake as she tripped over a tree root and stumbled into...

A pit?

Some sort of pit, deep by the echoing thuds Saya made as she hit the ground. Then a softer thud as the cougar launched itself after her. There was no escape now. Bracing herself, Saya waited, as she felt her hands growing hotter, and the cat drew nearer...

A burst of emotion, a sensation of heat, and utter silence as the world... seemed.... to..... halt........
